KFP Organises Peace-building Symposium
in an effort build peace in the northeast region a non-governmental organization, Kalthum Foundation for Peace in collaboration with BRAVE IT has organised a peace-building symposium in Maiduguri.
Speaking during the symposium, the Chairperson Khalthum Foundation for Peace KFP, Amb. Khalthum Ummi Muhammad the on behalf of the organisation, thanked the guest speaker, Prof Ibrahim Umara, all the panelists and participants and Sheikh Gumi.
She also expressed her gratitude to the chairman of the occasion, Prof. Isa Marte Hussaini for honoring the invitation.

“It is only together that we will find solutions that work for the issues that impact us all. I count on your candid advice and on your determination to accelerate the realization of peace in Borno, the Northeast and Nigeria at large.”
Continuing, she noted that the schedule of the symposium will focus on the topic of Peacebuilding through Community Engagement, adding that it will include more issues to address the full aspects of the topic.
Concluding, she expressed optimism that the symposium enlightens everyone and provides all.
In his address, the chairman of the occasion, Prof. Isa Marte Hussaini stated that sometimes terrorists have to be killed, the non-kinetic approach is the best way in tackling youths restiveness and some other security issues, sometimes.
On his part, Dr. Sheikh Gumi expressed displeasure that youths attack the military and the police who are there to protect them.
Furthering, Dr. Gumi decried the high level of social injustice that exists in the country, adding that Boko Haram insurgency and some other prevailing security challenges could have been averted if the nation had used dialogue rather the use of force.
He used the medium to call for the overhauling of the entire security system of the country.
In his address, the CAN chairman Borno State, Bishop Naga called for religious tolerance, nothing that he saw nothing wrong with Muslim-Muslim ticket.
