The Armed Forces of Nigeria has intensified its operations against terrorism, neutralizing 187 terrorists and arresting 183 others in various operations across the country. According to a press release, troops also rescued 109 kidnapped hostages and recovered 128 assorted weapons and 3,300 assorted ammunition.
According to the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, the military operations which are ongoing in five active theatres across the country, are aimed at crushing the enemy and restoring peace and security to the nation. The operations are complex, with troops fighting in difficult terrains and in several dimensions, including ground, air, sea, and cyber.
The military he said, has also discovered and destroyed illegal refining sites and recovered stolen crude oil and illegally refined petroleum products. The operations have been carried out in the Northeast, Northwest, North-central, South-south, and Southeast regions of the country.
The military has assured citizens that it will not compromise on security and will continue to fight to safeguard the nation and preserve the way of life. The operations are ongoing, and the military has promised to defeat the terrorists on the battlefield and help the nation flourish again.
