Military restates commitment to Defending Nigeria as Troops annihilate 210 terrorists, arrest 142 in one week

The armed forces is a force of stability seeking to bring stability wherever it maybe needed across the country. Accordingly, we are committed and remain strong to our mission of defending the country and protecting the citizens.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria says it has eliminated over 210 terrorists while arresting 142 of them within just one week of intensive operations.
Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba in a statement contained in the weekly briefing said, troops also arrested 66 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 46 kidnapped hostages.
In the South South, troops denied the oil theft of the estimated sum of Two Billion Two Hundred and Seventy Five Million Four Hundred and Fifty One Thousand and Six Hundred Naira (N2,275,451,600.00) only.
Furthermore, troops recovered 243 assorted weapons and 5,453 assorted ammunition. The breakdown as follows: 2 GPMGs, 3 G3 rifles, 115 AK47 rifles, 42 locally fabricated guns, 16 pump action guns, 12 locally fabricated pistols, 34 dane guns, 2 pistols, 3 fabricated revolver gun, 3 automatic single barrel guns, 2 double barrel guns, 2 locally made short guns, 4 hand grenades and
Others are: 2,699 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 1,558 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 339 rounds of 9mm ammo, 22 rounds of 5.64mm ammo, 121 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammo, 468 live cartridges, 34 magazines, 5 HH boafeng radios, 18 vehicle, 26 motorcycles and 34 mobile phones amongst other items.

Troops in the Niger Delta area discovered and discovered and destroyed 63 dugout pits, 46 boats and 120 storage tanks. Other items recovered include 100 cooking ovens, 3 outboard engine, 11 pumping machines, 23 vehicles, 2 tricycles, 6 mobile phones,one generator and 81 illegal refining sites.
Troops recovered 1,932,245 litres of stolen crude oil, 432,150 litres of illegally refined AGO and 3,500 litres of DPK.
General Bubba assured that, the military will continue to defeat the terrorists and their cohorts in the battlefield and dislodge them from the safe havens across the country.
He noted that even as the Ramadan is about to commence, troops are ready as a formidable force for the threats and know how to deal with them.

REPORT ON ONGOING MILITARY OPERATIONS BY THE ARMED FORCES OF NIGERIA AS AT 8 MARCH 2024
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION HADIN KAI (NORTH EAST)
1.Troops of Operation HADIN KAI recorded the following activities during the period under review; arrested BH/ISWAP terrorists collaborators, intercepted surrendered ISWAP/JAS combatants, conducted night ambushes and arrested members of notorious group known as “Malian Gangs” in Bama, Monguno, Gwoza and Bama LGAs of Borno State as well as Damaturu LGA of Yobe State.
2. Additionally, troops intercepted smuggling activities making some arrest. They also, discovered and destroyed UXO IEDs in Karasuwa LGA of Yobe State ,as well as Bama and Kukawa LGAs of Borno State.
3. Details as follows:
a.Arrests of Suspected BH/ISWAP terrorists collaborators.
(1) On 28 and 29 February 2024, troops in separate operations arrested 3 BH/ISWAP terrorists collaborators in Monguno and Damaturu LGAs of Borno and Yobe States respectively. During the operations, troops recovered food stuffs, military accoutrements and livestock amongst others.
(2) On 2 and 3 March 2024, troops with hybrid forces in seperate operations conducted sting operations in Damboa, Monguno, Kaga and Konduga LGAs of Borno State. During the operations, troops arrested 7 BH/ISWAP terrorists collaborators and recovered medical supplies, 3 motorcycles, 5 mobile phones and the sum of N117,890.00 amongst other item.
b.Surrender of BH/ISWAP Terrs.
(1) On 27 and 28 February 2024, 12 BH/ISWAP terrorists combatants and their family members comprising 6 adult females and 6 children surrendered to troops in Gwoza and Bama LGAs of Borno State.
(2) Between 28 February and 5 March 2024, a total of 107 BH/ISWAP/JAS terrorists combatants and their families comprising 14 adult males 29 adult females and 64 children surrendered to troops within the theatre of operations.
c.Night Ambush on ISWAP/JAS Terrorists. Between 1 to 4 March 2024, troops with hybrid forces in separate operations ambushed ISWAP/JAS terrorists. Contact was made with the terrorist in Damboa, Ngala and Jere LGA of Borno State. Following fire fights, troops neutralized 23 terrorists and recovered 17 AK47 rifles, 5 fabricated rifles, one G3 rifle, 4 dane guns, 2 hand grenades, 351 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 243 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 121 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammo, 6 motorcycles, 7 bicycles, one baofeng radio and 11 mobile phones.
dArrest of Members of Notorious Malian Gang. On 1 March 2024, troops on patrol responded to report on activities of notorious Malian gang in Jere LGA of Borno State. During the operation, troops arrested 6 of the gang members.
e.Interception of Trucks Conveying Smuggled Items. On 28 February and 1 March 2024, troops in separate operations conducted fighting patrols in Karasuwa LGA of Yobe State. During the operations, troops intercepted and arrested 4 trucks smuggling grains and PMS to Niger Republic. Troops also arrested 8 suspects.
f.BH/ISWAP Terrorist Attempted Infiltration of Troops Camp. On 3 March 2024, troops while on alert had meeting engagement with BHT/ISWAP terrorists attempting to infiltrate troops camp in Bama LGA of Borno State. Following the fire fight, troops neutralized 16 terrorists and recovered 11 AK47 rifles, 258 rounds of 7.62mm special, 4 hand grenades, 2 GPMGs, 2 G3 rifles, 4 motorcycles and one mobile phone.
g.Discovery and Detonation of UXO. On 4 March 2024, troops while on patrol responded to information on the discovery of UXO by locals in a farm in Kukawa LGA of Borno State. During the operation, troops discovered and detonated 19 UXOs as well recovered 4 IED cylinders, 4 IED Jerricans and wires.
4.Air Interdiction. On 27 February 2024, the Air component of Operation HADIN KAI while conducting armed recconaissance mission switched to interdiction following sighting of terrorists with their logistics concealing under under tree. Subsequently, the targets were attacked with rockets. Battle Damage Assessment revealed that several terrorists were neutralized and their logistics destroyed.
SUMMARY
5.Overall, troops of Operation HADIN KAI neutralized 39 terrorists and arrested 24 BH/ISWAP terrorists. Troops recovered 2 GPMGs, 3 G3 rifles, 28 AK47 rifles, 5 fabricated guns, 4 dane guns, 6 hand grenades, 609 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 243 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 121 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammo, 13 motorcycles, 17 mobile phones, 4 vehicles, 7 bicycles and one HH boafeng radio amongst others.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION SAFE HAVEN (NORTH CENTRAL)
6.Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN recorded the following during the period under review; conducted raid operations, arrested violent extremists, kidnappers and gun runners. Troops also rescued kidnapped hostages in Jos South, Bokkos and Mangu LGAs of Plateau State as well as Jema’a and Sanga LGAs of Kaduna State.
7. Details are as follows:
a.Raid Operations.
(1)On 28 February 2024, troops in conjunction with DSS operatives acting on credible intelligence raided a suspected violent extremist/gunrunner hideout and arms fabrication room in Jos South LGA of Plateau State. During the operation, troops recovered 7 fabricated rifles, 6 fabricated pistols and 15 rounds of different calibres of ammo. Efforts ongoing to track and arrest the suspect.
(2)On 27 February 2024, troops on patrol raided a suspected violent extremists/kidnapper’s hideout in Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State. During the operation, troops arrested 9 suspects and recovered 5 dane guns calibrated to fire rounds of 7.62mm NATO and 23 rounds of 7.62mm NATO.
b.Arrest of Suspected Violent Extremists/Kidnapper/ Gunrunner
(1) On 27 February 2024, Following credible intelligence, troops arrested a notorious violent extremist/kidnapper, identified as Sani Dahiru 35 yrs in Mangu LGA of Plateau State.
(2) On 29 February and 1 March 2024, troops in separate operations arrested 7 suspected violents extremists/terrorists in Zango Kataf and Wase LGAs of Kaduna and Plateau States respectively.
(3) On 29 February 2024, following monitoring of arms courier syndicate, troops with DSS operatives arrested one Ahmed Umar, a suspected gunrunner in Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State. Troops recovered 842 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo and a vehicle.
c.Rescue Kidnapped Hostage.
(1) On 28 February 2024, troops while on patrol foiled kidnapping incident in Sanga LGA of Kaduna State. During the operation, troops rescued one injured kidnapped hostage.
(2) On 1 March 2024, troops while on patrol responded to information on kidnapping attempt in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State. During the operation, troops rescued 2 kidnapped hostages and reunite them to their families.
SUMMARY
8.Overall, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN arrested 18 violent extremists and 3 rescued kidnapped hostage. Troops recovered 7 fabricated guns, 6 fabricated pistol, 5 dane guns, 842 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 123 rounds of 7.62mm NATO and 15 assorted ammunitions amongst other items.
OPERATION WHIRL STROKE (NORTH CENTRAL)
9.Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE recorded the following during the week under review; conducted raid operation, repelled ambush, conducted fighting patrol and arrested impostor in Katsina-Ala, Ukum, Apa and Ado LGA of Benue State as well as Karu LGA of Nasarawa State.
10.Details are as follows:
a.Raid Operations.
(1) On 28 February 2024, troops with hybrid forces raided suspected violent extremists/terrorists hideouts in Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State. Troops made no contact. During the operation, troops recovered 22 rounds of 5.64mm ammo and one vehicle.
(2) On 1 and 4 March 2024, troops in separate operations raided suspected violent extremists hideout and made contact in Katsina-Ala and Ado LGAs of Benue State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 12 insurgents and arrested 5 suspected cultists. During the operation, troops recovered 10 locally fabricated guns, 2 dane guns, one fabricated pistol, 110 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 234 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 112 rounds of 9mm ammo, 3 motorcycles and 4 mobile phones.
(3)Suspected Armed Herders Attack on Troops. On 2 March 2024, troops while on patrol was ambushed by suspected violent extremists/armed herders in Apa LGA of Benue State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 13 insurgents and recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 117 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 4 magazines and 4 mobile phones.
(4)Fighting Patrol. On 4 March 2024, troops while on fighting patrol made contact with violent extremists/insurgents in Ukum LGA of Benue State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 15 insurgents and recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 2 double barrel guns, one locally made pistol, 3 dane guns, 78 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 32 rounds of 9mm ammo and substance suspected to be cannabis.
e. Arrest of Impostors. On 29 February and 1 March 2024, troops while on patrols arrested one suspected violent extremists/impostors in Karu LGA of Nasarawa State. During the operations, troops recovered military accoutrements and fake military ID cards amonsgts others.
SUMMARY
11.Overall, troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE neutralized 33 violent extremists/terrorists and arrested 5 violent extremists. Troops recovered 15 AK47 rifles, 12 fabricated guns, 5 dane guns, 2 fabricated pistol, 2 double barrel guns, 227 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 312 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 22 rounds of 5.64mm ammo, 144 rounds of 9mm ammo, 4 magazines, 3 motorcycles, one vehicle and 8 mobile phones amongst others.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION HADARIN DAJI (NORTH WEST)
12.The troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI recorded the following during the period under review; rescue kidnapped hostages, responded to terrorists activities, conducted offensive operations, fighting patrols, in Maradun, Tsafe, Shinkafi and Isa LGAs Zamfara States as well as Kankara, Kurfi and Safana LGAs of Katsina State.
13. Additionally, troops foiled terrorists attack, had meeting engagement with terrorists and conducted raid operations in Chikun and Shinkafi LGAs of Kaduna and Zamfara States as well as Takai LGA of Kano State.
14. Details are as follows;
a.Rescue of Kidnap Hostages.On 28 February 2024, troops responded to information on terrorists/kidnappers activities in Kankara LGA of Kastina State. During the operation, troops rescued 4 kidnapped hostages and were reunite with their families.
b.Terrorists Activities.
(1) On 28 February 2024, troops while on patrol responded to information on terrorists activities and made contact in Maradun LGA of Zamfara State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 12 terrorists and rescued 8 kidnapped hostages. Troops also recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 2 locally fabricated rifles, 131 rounds of 7.62mm special, 74 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 4 magazines, one HH radio, 4 motorcycles and one mobile phone.
(2) Between 29 February and 5 March 2024, troops in separate operations responded to information on terrorists activities and made contact in Gummi, Kaura Namoda and Maradun LGAs of Zamfara State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 13 terrorists and rescued 22 kidnapped hostages. Troops also recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 2 dane guns, 150 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 2 motorcycles and 4 mobile phones amongst others.
c. Offensive Operations.
(1) Between 29 February and 5 March 2024, troops in separate operations conducted offensive operations and made contact with terrorists in Tsafe, Shinkafi and Isa LGAs of Zamfara State as well as Isa LGA of Sokoto State respectively. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 26 terrorists and recovered 23 AK47 rifles, 5 dane guns, 4 fabricated pistols, 354 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 234 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 101 rounds of 9mm ammo, one hand grenades, 7 magazines, 6 motorcycles, 10 bicycles and 5 mobile phones amongst others.
(2)On 4 and 5 March 2024, troops in separate offensive operations make contact with terrorists in Kurfi and Safana LGAs of Katsina State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 14 terrorists and recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 2 single barrel gun, 3 dane guns, 2 locally fabricated short guns, 4 magazines, AK47 rifle Stock and butt and 5 mobile phones amongst others.
d. Fighting Patrols. On 29 February and 4 March 2024, troops while conducting separate fighting patrols made contact with terrorists in Batsari and Faskari LGAs of Katsina State as well as Maradun LGA of Zamfara State respectively. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 11 terrorists and recovered 8 fabricated AK47 rifles, 4 dane guns, 231 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 3 magazines and 3 motorcycles amongst others.
e.Violent Extremists/Insurgs Attk on Civs. On 29 February 2024, troops responded to a distress call on terrorists activities in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State. During the operation, troops rescued 9 kidnapped hostages and recovered one HH boafeng radio.
f.Meeting Engagement. On 3 March 2024, troops while on routine patrol made contact with terrorists in Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 5 terrorists and recovered 4 AK47 rifles, 121 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 2 magazines and one mobile phone.
g.Raid Operations. On 3 March 2024, troops conducted raid operation and arrested 2 suspected terrorists in Takai LGA of Kano State. Suspects who’s names are withheld are under investigation. Troops recovered 2 dane guns, 2 mobile phones and one motorcycle.
15. Air Interdiction. Between 28 and 29 February 2024, following intelligence on terrorists convergence and activities, the air component of Operation HADARIN DAJI in multiple passes conducted air Interdiction in Maru LGA of Zamfara State. The locations were acquired and engaged with rockets and cannons. Battle Damage Assessment revealed that several terrorists were neutralized and their logistics destroyed.
16. Additionally, on 2 March 2024, following confirmation on terrorists activities arounds Alhaji Nashama’s Enclave and Safana in Katsina State. The air component of Operation HADARIN DAJI in multiple UAVs passes conducted air interdiction. Accordingly, the locations were acquired and attacked with rockets. Battle Damage Assessment confirms that targets were effectively neutralized and their logistics destroyed.
SUMMARY
17.Overall, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI neutralized 84 terrorists and rescued 43 kidnapped hostages. Troops recovered 52 AK47 rifles, 13 locally fabricated guns, 17 dane guns, 4 fabricated pistols, 2 single barrel guns, 2 locally fabricated short guns, one hand grenade, 606 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 689 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 101 rounds of 9mm ammo, 20 magazines, 16 motorcycles, 10 bicycles, 2 baofeng radios and 18 mobile phones amonsgt other items.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION WHIRL PUNCH (NORTH WEST)
18.The troops of Operation WHIRL PUNCH recorded the following during the week under review; neutralized terrorists, arrested suspected violent extremists/gunrunners and kidnappers in Chikun and Lafia LGAs of Kaduna and Nasarawa States as well as AMAC of FCT Abuja.
19.Details are as follows;
a.Neutralization of Terrorists On 27 February 2024, troops while on patrol made contact with violent extremists/terrorists in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 8 terrorists, recovered 6 locally fabricated guns loaded with 146 rounds of 7.62mm NATO and machetes.
b. Arrest. On 27 February 2024, Following a tip off, troops arrested a gunrunner in AMAC of FCT Abuja. Two members of the gun running gang were apprehended military impostors. Troops recovered one AK47 rifle, one pistol, 36 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 3 magazines, 64 rounds of 9mm, 2 fake military ID cards and military accoutrements amongst others.
c.Arrest of Suspected Kidnappers. On 1 and 3 March 2024, following a tip off, troops in separate operations arrested 2 suspected violent extremists/kidnappers in AMAC of FCT Abuja and Lafia LGA of Nasarawa State respectively. During the operations, troops recovered one locally fabricated pistol, 10 rounds of 9mm ammo, one mobile phone and the sum of N310,000.00 amongst others.
20.Air Interdiction. On 26 February 2024, the Air component of Operation WHIRL PUNCH conducted air interdiction over terrorists’ enclave in Birni Gwari LGA of Kaduna State. Following confirmation, the locations were acquired and attacked with rockets and bombs. Battle Damage Assessment confirmed that several terrorists were neutralized and their structures burnt down.
SUMMARY
21.Overall, troops of Operation WHIRL PUNCH neutralized 8 insurgents, arrested 4 violent extremists/terrorists and rescued 3 kidnapped hostages. Troops recovered one AK47 rifles, 6 locally fabricated guns, one pistol, one fabricated pistol, 36 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 146 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 74 rounds of 9mm ammo, one mobile phone and 3 magazines amongst others.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION DELTA SAFE (SOUTH SOUTH)
22.Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE maintained momentum against the activities of crude oil theft. Troops destroyed several illegal refining sites and recovered stolen products. Troops conducted raid operations and arrested violent extremists and crude oil bunkerers in Bakassi LGA of Cross River State as well as Onne and Emuaha LGAs of Rivers States.
23. Details as follows:
a.Troops Destroy Illegal Refining Sites. Troops recovered 1,932,245 litres of stolen crude oil, 432,150 litres of illegally refined AGO and 3,500 litres of DPK. Additionally, troops discovered and destroyed 63 dugout pits, 46 boats and 120 storage tanks. Other items recovered include 100 cooking ovens, 3 outboard engine, 11 pumping machines, 23 vehicles, 2 tricycles, 6 mobile phones,one generator and 81 illegal refining sites.
b.Raid Operation. On 28 February 2024, troops raided a suspected violent extremists/kidnappers hideout and made contact in Bakassi LGA of Cross River State. c.Arrest. On 27 and 28 February 2024, troops in separate operations arrested 9 violent extremists/bunkerers in Onne and Emuaha LGAs of Rivers State. Troops recovered 2 trucks loaded with stolen illegally refined AGO, 2 pump action guns and 4 mobile phones.
d.Arrest of Suspected Criminals. On 1 March 2024, following report , troops on patrol arrested 2 suspected violent extremists in Warri South LGA of Delta State.
e.Armed Robbery Incident. On 4 March 2024, troops responded to a distress call on violent extremists and armed robbery activities. Troops made contact with group in Oshimili South of Delta State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 4 insurgents and recovered 3 fabricated rifles, one pump action gun, one cut to size locally made pistol, 76 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 25 cartridges and fake ID cards amonsgt other.
f.Arrest of Suspected Armed Robbers. On 29 February 2024, troops while on patrol arrested one violent extremist/armed robber in Yakuur LGA of Cross River State. The apprehended person was arrested while attempting to rob his victim.
g.Violent Extremists Activities. On 3 March 2024, troops while on patrol responded to information on violent extremists/terrorists activities in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. During the operation, troops arrested 2 suspects and recovered 2 double barrel guns, one jojef pump pction gun, 15 live ammo cartridges, 2 mobile phones and 2 jack knives amongst others.
SUMMARY
24.Overall, troops of Operation DELTA SAFE recovered 1,932,245 litres of stolen crude oil, 432,150 litres of illegally refined AGO and 3,500 litres of DPK. Additionally, Troops discovered and destroyed 63 dugout pits, 46 boats and 120 storage tanks. Other items recovered include 100 cooking ovens, 3 outboard engine, 11 pumping machines, 23 vehicles, 2 tricycles, 6 mobile phones,one generator and 81 illegal refining sites.
25.Troops neutralized 14 insurgents and apprehended 66 suspected oil thefts and other violent extremists/insurgents. Troops also recovered 20 weapons and 239 ammunitions amongst other items.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION UDO KA (SOUTH EAST)
26.Troops of Operation UDO KA recorded the following during the week under review; arrested suspected violent extremists/kidnapper, conducted raid, offensive operations and arrested violent extremists/IPOB/ESN in Orlu, Orsu, Okigwe and Oguta LGAs of Imo State as well as Aguata LGA of Anambra State. Additionally, Aninrie and Isuikwuato LGAs of Enugu and Abia States.
27. Details as follows:
a.Arrest. On 26 and 27 February 2024, troops with hybrid forces in separate operations arrested 3 suspected violent extremists/kidnapper in Aguata and Orlu LGAs of Anambra and Imo States respectively. During the operations, troops recovered 2 pump action rifles, 34 live cartridges, one motorcycle and 3 mobile phones amongst others.
b.Raid Operations. On 3 and 4 March 2024, troops in separate operations raided a suspected violent extremists/IPOB/ESN hideouts and made contact in Aninrie and Oguta LGAs of Enugu and Imo States respectively. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 12 insurgents and recovered 5 AK47 rifles, 7 pump action guns, 2 fabricated guns, 3 magazines, 134 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 203 live cartridges, 4 motorcycles and 7 mobile phones amongst others.
c.Offensive Operations. Between 29 February and 2 March 2024, troops in separate operations conducted offensive operations and made contact with violent extremists/terrorists in Orsu and Orlu LGAs of Imo State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 13 insurgents and recovered 7 AK47 rifles, 4 pump action guns, 3 automatic single barrel gun, one locally made gun, 8 IEDs (OGBUNIGWE), 245 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 45 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 231 live cartridges, 20 rounds of 9mm ammo, 3 baofeng radios, 3 CCTV cameras and 10 mobile phones amongst others.
d. Arrest of Suspected Violent Extremists /IPOB/ESN Criminal. On 2 and 3 March 2024, following reports, troops in separate operations arrested 9 suspected violent extremists/IPOB and cultists in Okigwe and Isuikwuato LGAs of Imo and Abia States respectively.
SUMMARY
28.Overall, troops of Operation UDO KA neutralized 25 terrorists and arrested 12 violent extremists. Troops recovered 12 AK47 rifles, 2 fabricated guns, 11 pump action guns, 3 automatic single barrel guns, one locally made gun, 379 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 45 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 20 rounds of 9mm ammo, 468 live cartridges, 8 IEDs, 3 magazines, 5 motorcycles 20 mobile phones and 3 HH boafeng radios amongst other items. The armed forces is a force of stability seeking to bring stability wherever it maybe needed across the country. Accordingly, we are committed and remain strong to our mission of defending the country and protecting the citizens.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria says it has eliminated over 210 terrorists while arresting 142 of them within just one week of intensive operations.
Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba in a statement contained in the weekly briefing said, troops also arrested 66 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 46 kidnapped hostages.
In the South South, troops denied the oil theft of the estimated sum of Two Billion Two Hundred and Seventy Five Million Four Hundred and Fifty One Thousand and Six Hundred Naira (N2,275,451,600.00) only.
Furthermore, troops recovered 243 assorted weapons and 5,453 assorted ammunition. The breakdown as follows: 2 GPMGs, 3 G3 rifles, 115 AK47 rifles, 42 locally fabricated guns, 16 pump action guns, 12 locally fabricated pistols, 34 dane guns, 2 pistols, 3 fabricated revolver gun, 3 automatic single barrel guns, 2 double barrel guns, 2 locally made short guns, 4 hand grenades and
Others are: 2,699 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 1,558 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 339 rounds of 9mm ammo, 22 rounds of 5.64mm ammo, 121 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammo, 468 live cartridges, 34 magazines, 5 HH boafeng radios, 18 vehicle, 26 motorcycles and 34 mobile phones amongst other items.
Troops in the Niger Delta area discovered and discovered and destroyed 63 dugout pits, 46 boats and 120 storage tanks. Other items recovered include 100 cooking ovens, 3 outboard engine, 11 pumping machines, 23 vehicles, 2 tricycles, 6 mobile phones,one generator and 81 illegal refining sites.
Troops recovered 1,932,245 litres of stolen crude oil, 432,150 litres of illegally refined AGO and 3,500 litres of DPK.
General Bubba assured that, the military will continue to defeat the terrorists and their cohorts in the battlefield and dislodge them from the safe havens across the country.
He noted that even as the Ramadan is about to commence, troops are ready as a formidable force for the threats and know how to deal with them.

REPORT ON ONGOING MILITARY OPERATIONS BY THE ARMED FORCES OF NIGERIA AS AT 8 MARCH 2024
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION HADIN KAI (NORTH EAST)
1.Troops of Operation HADIN KAI recorded the following activities during the period under review; arrested BH/ISWAP terrorists collaborators, intercepted surrendered ISWAP/JAS combatants, conducted night ambushes and arrested members of notorious group known as “Malian Gangs” in Bama, Monguno, Gwoza and Bama LGAs of Borno State as well as Damaturu LGA of Yobe State.
2. Additionally, troops intercepted smuggling activities making some arrest. They also, discovered and destroyed UXO IEDs in Karasuwa LGA of Yobe State ,as well as Bama and Kukawa LGAs of Borno State.
3. Details as follows:
a.Arrests of Suspected BH/ISWAP terrorists collaborators.
(1) On 28 and 29 February 2024, troops in separate operations arrested 3 BH/ISWAP terrorists collaborators in Monguno and Damaturu LGAs of Borno and Yobe States respectively. During the operations, troops recovered food stuffs, military accoutrements and livestock amongst others.
(2) On 2 and 3 March 2024, troops with hybrid forces in seperate operations conducted sting operations in Damboa, Monguno, Kaga and Konduga LGAs of Borno State. During the operations, troops arrested 7 BH/ISWAP terrorists collaborators and recovered medical supplies, 3 motorcycles, 5 mobile phones and the sum of N117,890.00 amongst other item.
b.Surrender of BH/ISWAP Terrs.
(1) On 27 and 28 February 2024, 12 BH/ISWAP terrorists combatants and their family members comprising 6 adult females and 6 children surrendered to troops in Gwoza and Bama LGAs of Borno State.
(2) Between 28 February and 5 March 2024, a total of 107 BH/ISWAP/JAS terrorists combatants and their families comprising 14 adult males 29 adult females and 64 children surrendered to troops within the theatre of operations.
c.Night Ambush on ISWAP/JAS Terrorists. Between 1 to 4 March 2024, troops with hybrid forces in separate operations ambushed ISWAP/JAS terrorists. Contact was made with the terrorist in Damboa, Ngala and Jere LGA of Borno State. Following fire fights, troops neutralized 23 terrorists and recovered 17 AK47 rifles, 5 fabricated rifles, one G3 rifle, 4 dane guns, 2 hand grenades, 351 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 243 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 121 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammo, 6 motorcycles, 7 bicycles, one baofeng radio and 11 mobile phones.
dArrest of Members of Notorious Malian Gang. On 1 March 2024, troops on patrol responded to report on activities of notorious Malian gang in Jere LGA of Borno State. During the operation, troops arrested 6 of the gang members.
e.Interception of Trucks Conveying Smuggled Items. On 28 February and 1 March 2024, troops in separate operations conducted fighting patrols in Karasuwa LGA of Yobe State. During the operations, troops intercepted and arrested 4 trucks smuggling grains and PMS to Niger Republic. Troops also arrested 8 suspects.
f.BH/ISWAP Terrorist Attempted Infiltration of Troops Camp. On 3 March 2024, troops while on alert had meeting engagement with BHT/ISWAP terrorists attempting to infiltrate troops camp in Bama LGA of Borno State. Following the fire fight, troops neutralized 16 terrorists and recovered 11 AK47 rifles, 258 rounds of 7.62mm special, 4 hand grenades, 2 GPMGs, 2 G3 rifles, 4 motorcycles and one mobile phone.
g.Discovery and Detonation of UXO. On 4 March 2024, troops while on patrol responded to information on the discovery of UXO by locals in a farm in Kukawa LGA of Borno State. During the operation, troops discovered and detonated 19 UXOs as well recovered 4 IED cylinders, 4 IED Jerricans and wires.
4.Air Interdiction. On 27 February 2024, the Air component of Operation HADIN KAI while conducting armed recconaissance mission switched to interdiction following sighting of terrorists with their logistics concealing under under tree. Subsequently, the targets were attacked with rockets. Battle Damage Assessment revealed that several terrorists were neutralized and their logistics destroyed.
SUMMARY
5.Overall, troops of Operation HADIN KAI neutralized 39 terrorists and arrested 24 BH/ISWAP terrorists. Troops recovered 2 GPMGs, 3 G3 rifles, 28 AK47 rifles, 5 fabricated guns, 4 dane guns, 6 hand grenades, 609 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 243 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 121 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammo, 13 motorcycles, 17 mobile phones, 4 vehicles, 7 bicycles and one HH boafeng radio amongst others.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION SAFE HAVEN (NORTH CENTRAL)
6.Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN recorded the following during the period under review; conducted raid operations, arrested violent extremists, kidnappers and gun runners. Troops also rescued kidnapped hostages in Jos South, Bokkos and Mangu LGAs of Plateau State as well as Jema’a and Sanga LGAs of Kaduna State.
7. Details are as follows:
a.Raid Operations.
(1)On 28 February 2024, troops in conjunction with DSS operatives acting on credible intelligence raided a suspected violent extremist/gunrunner hideout and arms fabrication room in Jos South LGA of Plateau State. During the operation, troops recovered 7 fabricated rifles, 6 fabricated pistols and 15 rounds of different calibres of ammo. Efforts ongoing to track and arrest the suspect.
(2)On 27 February 2024, troops on patrol raided a suspected violent extremists/kidnapper’s hideout in Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State. During the operation, troops arrested 9 suspects and recovered 5 dane guns calibrated to fire rounds of 7.62mm NATO and 23 rounds of 7.62mm NATO.
b.Arrest of Suspected Violent Extremists/Kidnapper/ Gunrunner
(1) On 27 February 2024, Following credible intelligence, troops arrested a notorious violent extremist/kidnapper, identified as Sani Dahiru 35 yrs in Mangu LGA of Plateau State.
(2) On 29 February and 1 March 2024, troops in separate operations arrested 7 suspected violents extremists/terrorists in Zango Kataf and Wase LGAs of Kaduna and Plateau States respectively.
(3) On 29 February 2024, following monitoring of arms courier syndicate, troops with DSS operatives arrested one Ahmed Umar, a suspected gunrunner in Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State. Troops recovered 842 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo and a vehicle.
c.Rescue Kidnapped Hostage.
(1) On 28 February 2024, troops while on patrol foiled kidnapping incident in Sanga LGA of Kaduna State. During the operation, troops rescued one injured kidnapped hostage.
(2) On 1 March 2024, troops while on patrol responded to information on kidnapping attempt in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State. During the operation, troops rescued 2 kidnapped hostages and reunite them to their families.
SUMMARY
8.Overall, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN arrested 18 violent extremists and 3 rescued kidnapped hostage. Troops recovered 7 fabricated guns, 6 fabricated pistol, 5 dane guns, 842 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 123 rounds of 7.62mm NATO and 15 assorted ammunitions amongst other items.
OPERATION WHIRL STROKE (NORTH CENTRAL)
9.Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE recorded the following during the week under review; conducted raid operation, repelled ambush, conducted fighting patrol and arrested impostor in Katsina-Ala, Ukum, Apa and Ado LGA of Benue State as well as Karu LGA of Nasarawa State.
10.Details are as follows:
a.Raid Operations.
(1) On 28 February 2024, troops with hybrid forces raided suspected violent extremists/terrorists hideouts in Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State. Troops made no contact. During the operation, troops recovered 22 rounds of 5.64mm ammo and one vehicle.
(2) On 1 and 4 March 2024, troops in separate operations raided suspected violent extremists hideout and made contact in Katsina-Ala and Ado LGAs of Benue State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 12 insurgents and arrested 5 suspected cultists. During the operation, troops recovered 10 locally fabricated guns, 2 dane guns, one fabricated pistol, 110 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 234 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 112 rounds of 9mm ammo, 3 motorcycles and 4 mobile phones.
(3)Suspected Armed Herders Attack on Troops. On 2 March 2024, troops while on patrol was ambushed by suspected violent extremists/armed herders in Apa LGA of Benue State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 13 insurgents and recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 117 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 4 magazines and 4 mobile phones.
(4)Fighting Patrol. On 4 March 2024, troops while on fighting patrol made contact with violent extremists/insurgents in Ukum LGA of Benue State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 15 insurgents and recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 2 double barrel guns, one locally made pistol, 3 dane guns, 78 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 32 rounds of 9mm ammo and substance suspected to be cannabis.
e. Arrest of Impostors. On 29 February and 1 March 2024, troops while on patrols arrested one suspected violent extremists/impostors in Karu LGA of Nasarawa State. During the operations, troops recovered military accoutrements and fake military ID cards amonsgts others.
SUMMARY
11.Overall, troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE neutralized 33 violent extremists/terrorists and arrested 5 violent extremists. Troops recovered 15 AK47 rifles, 12 fabricated guns, 5 dane guns, 2 fabricated pistol, 2 double barrel guns, 227 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 312 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 22 rounds of 5.64mm ammo, 144 rounds of 9mm ammo, 4 magazines, 3 motorcycles, one vehicle and 8 mobile phones amongst others.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION HADARIN DAJI (NORTH WEST)
12.The troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI recorded the following during the period under review; rescue kidnapped hostages, responded to terrorists activities, conducted offensive operations, fighting patrols, in Maradun, Tsafe, Shinkafi and Isa LGAs Zamfara States as well as Kankara, Kurfi and Safana LGAs of Katsina State.
13. Additionally, troops foiled terrorists attack, had meeting engagement with terrorists and conducted raid operations in Chikun and Shinkafi LGAs of Kaduna and Zamfara States as well as Takai LGA of Kano State.
14. Details are as follows;
a.Rescue of Kidnap Hostages.On 28 February 2024, troops responded to information on terrorists/kidnappers activities in Kankara LGA of Kastina State. During the operation, troops rescued 4 kidnapped hostages and were reunite with their families.
b.Terrorists Activities.
(1) On 28 February 2024, troops while on patrol responded to information on terrorists activities and made contact in Maradun LGA of Zamfara State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 12 terrorists and rescued 8 kidnapped hostages. Troops also recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 2 locally fabricated rifles, 131 rounds of 7.62mm special, 74 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 4 magazines, one HH radio, 4 motorcycles and one mobile phone.
(2) Between 29 February and 5 March 2024, troops in separate operations responded to information on terrorists activities and made contact in Gummi, Kaura Namoda and Maradun LGAs of Zamfara State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 13 terrorists and rescued 22 kidnapped hostages. Troops also recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 2 dane guns, 150 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 2 motorcycles and 4 mobile phones amongst others.
c. Offensive Operations.
(1) Between 29 February and 5 March 2024, troops in separate operations conducted offensive operations and made contact with terrorists in Tsafe, Shinkafi and Isa LGAs of Zamfara State as well as Isa LGA of Sokoto State respectively. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 26 terrorists and recovered 23 AK47 rifles, 5 dane guns, 4 fabricated pistols, 354 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 234 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 101 rounds of 9mm ammo, one hand grenades, 7 magazines, 6 motorcycles, 10 bicycles and 5 mobile phones amongst others.
(2)On 4 and 5 March 2024, troops in separate offensive operations make contact with terrorists in Kurfi and Safana LGAs of Katsina State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 14 terrorists and recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 2 single barrel gun, 3 dane guns, 2 locally fabricated short guns, 4 magazines, AK47 rifle Stock and butt and 5 mobile phones amongst others.
d. Fighting Patrols. On 29 February and 4 March 2024, troops while conducting separate fighting patrols made contact with terrorists in Batsari and Faskari LGAs of Katsina State as well as Maradun LGA of Zamfara State respectively. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 11 terrorists and recovered 8 fabricated AK47 rifles, 4 dane guns, 231 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 3 magazines and 3 motorcycles amongst others.
e.Violent Extremists/Insurgs Attk on Civs. On 29 February 2024, troops responded to a distress call on terrorists activities in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State. During the operation, troops rescued 9 kidnapped hostages and recovered one HH boafeng radio.
f.Meeting Engagement. On 3 March 2024, troops while on routine patrol made contact with terrorists in Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 5 terrorists and recovered 4 AK47 rifles, 121 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 2 magazines and one mobile phone.
g.Raid Operations. On 3 March 2024, troops conducted raid operation and arrested 2 suspected terrorists in Takai LGA of Kano State. Suspects who’s names are withheld are under investigation. Troops recovered 2 dane guns, 2 mobile phones and one motorcycle.
15. Air Interdiction. Between 28 and 29 February 2024, following intelligence on terrorists convergence and activities, the air component of Operation HADARIN DAJI in multiple passes conducted air Interdiction in Maru LGA of Zamfara State. The locations were acquired and engaged with rockets and cannons. Battle Damage Assessment revealed that several terrorists were neutralized and their logistics destroyed.
16. Additionally, on 2 March 2024, following confirmation on terrorists activities arounds Alhaji Nashama’s Enclave and Safana in Katsina State. The air component of Operation HADARIN DAJI in multiple UAVs passes conducted air interdiction. Accordingly, the locations were acquired and attacked with rockets. Battle Damage Assessment confirms that targets were effectively neutralized and their logistics destroyed.
SUMMARY
17.Overall, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI neutralized 84 terrorists and rescued 43 kidnapped hostages. Troops recovered 52 AK47 rifles, 13 locally fabricated guns, 17 dane guns, 4 fabricated pistols, 2 single barrel guns, 2 locally fabricated short guns, one hand grenade, 606 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 689 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 101 rounds of 9mm ammo, 20 magazines, 16 motorcycles, 10 bicycles, 2 baofeng radios and 18 mobile phones amonsgt other items.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION WHIRL PUNCH (NORTH WEST)
18.The troops of Operation WHIRL PUNCH recorded the following during the week under review; neutralized terrorists, arrested suspected violent extremists/gunrunners and kidnappers in Chikun and Lafia LGAs of Kaduna and Nasarawa States as well as AMAC of FCT Abuja.
19.Details are as follows;
a.Neutralization of Terrorists On 27 February 2024, troops while on patrol made contact with violent extremists/terrorists in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 8 terrorists, recovered 6 locally fabricated guns loaded with 146 rounds of 7.62mm NATO and machetes.
b. Arrest. On 27 February 2024, Following a tip off, troops arrested a gunrunner in AMAC of FCT Abuja. Two members of the gun running gang were apprehended military impostors. Troops recovered one AK47 rifle, one pistol, 36 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 3 magazines, 64 rounds of 9mm, 2 fake military ID cards and military accoutrements amongst others.
c.Arrest of Suspected Kidnappers. On 1 and 3 March 2024, following a tip off, troops in separate operations arrested 2 suspected violent extremists/kidnappers in AMAC of FCT Abuja and Lafia LGA of Nasarawa State respectively. During the operations, troops recovered one locally fabricated pistol, 10 rounds of 9mm ammo, one mobile phone and the sum of N310,000.00 amongst others.
20.Air Interdiction. On 26 February 2024, the Air component of Operation WHIRL PUNCH conducted air interdiction over terrorists’ enclave in Birni Gwari LGA of Kaduna State. Following confirmation, the locations were acquired and attacked with rockets and bombs. Battle Damage Assessment confirmed that several terrorists were neutralized and their structures burnt down.
SUMMARY
21.Overall, troops of Operation WHIRL PUNCH neutralized 8 insurgents, arrested 4 violent extremists/terrorists and rescued 3 kidnapped hostages. Troops recovered one AK47 rifles, 6 locally fabricated guns, one pistol, one fabricated pistol, 36 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 146 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 74 rounds of 9mm ammo, one mobile phone and 3 magazines amongst others.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION DELTA SAFE (SOUTH SOUTH)
22.Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE maintained momentum against the activities of crude oil theft. Troops destroyed several illegal refining sites and recovered stolen products. Troops conducted raid operations and arrested violent extremists and crude oil bunkerers in Bakassi LGA of Cross River State as well as Onne and Emuaha LGAs of Rivers States.
23. Details as follows:
a.Troops Destroy Illegal Refining Sites. Troops recovered 1,932,245 litres of stolen crude oil, 432,150 litres of illegally refined AGO and 3,500 litres of DPK. Additionally, troops discovered and destroyed 63 dugout pits, 46 boats and 120 storage tanks. Other items recovered include 100 cooking ovens, 3 outboard engine, 11 pumping machines, 23 vehicles, 2 tricycles, 6 mobile phones,one generator and 81 illegal refining sites.
b.Raid Operation. On 28 February 2024, troops raided a suspected violent extremists/kidnappers hideout and made contact in Bakassi LGA of Cross River State. c.Arrest. On 27 and 28 February 2024, troops in separate operations arrested 9 violent extremists/bunkerers in Onne and Emuaha LGAs of Rivers State. Troops recovered 2 trucks loaded with stolen illegally refined AGO, 2 pump action guns and 4 mobile phones.
d.Arrest of Suspected Criminals. On 1 March 2024, following report , troops on patrol arrested 2 suspected violent extremists in Warri South LGA of Delta State.
e.Armed Robbery Incident. On 4 March 2024, troops responded to a distress call on violent extremists and armed robbery activities. Troops made contact with group in Oshimili South of Delta State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 4 insurgents and recovered 3 fabricated rifles, one pump action gun, one cut to size locally made pistol, 76 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 25 cartridges and fake ID cards amonsgt other.
f.Arrest of Suspected Armed Robbers. On 29 February 2024, troops while on patrol arrested one violent extremist/armed robber in Yakuur LGA of Cross River State. The apprehended person was arrested while attempting to rob his victim.
g.Violent Extremists Activities. On 3 March 2024, troops while on patrol responded to information on violent extremists/terrorists activities in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. During the operation, troops arrested 2 suspects and recovered 2 double barrel guns, one jojef pump pction gun, 15 live ammo cartridges, 2 mobile phones and 2 jack knives amongst others.
SUMMARY
24.Overall, troops of Operation DELTA SAFE recovered 1,932,245 litres of stolen crude oil, 432,150 litres of illegally refined AGO and 3,500 litres of DPK. Additionally, Troops discovered and destroyed 63 dugout pits, 46 boats and 120 storage tanks. 25.Troops neutralized 14 insurgents and apprehended 66 suspected oil thefts and other violent extremists/insurgents. Troops also recovered 20 weapons and 239 ammunitions amongst other items.

26.Troops of Operation UDO KA recorded the following during the week under review; arrested suspected violent extremists/kidnapper, conducted raid, offensive operations and arrested violent extremists/IPOB/ESN in Orlu, Orsu, Okigwe and Oguta LGAs of Imo State as well as Aguata LGA of Anambra State. Additionally, Aninrie and Isuikwuato LGAs of Enugu and Abia States.
27. Details as follows:
a.Arrest. On 26 and 27 February 2024, troops with hybrid forces in separate operations arrested 3 suspected violent extremists/kidnapper in Aguata and Orlu LGAs of Anambra and Imo States respectively. During the operations, troops recovered 2 pump action rifles, 34 live cartridges, one motorcycle and 3 mobile phones amongst others.
b.Raid Operations. On 3 and 4 March 2024, troops in separate operations raided a suspected violent extremists/IPOB/ESN hideouts and made contact in Aninrie and Oguta LGAs of Enugu and Imo States respectively. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 12 insurgents and recovered 5 AK47 rifles, 7 pump action guns, 2 fabricated guns, 3 magazines, 134 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 203 live cartridges, 4 motorcycles and 7 mobile phones amongst others.
c.Offensive Operations. Between 29 February and 2 March 2024, troops in separate operations conducted offensive operations and made contact with violent extremists/terrorists in Orsu and Orlu LGAs of Imo State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 13 insurgents and recovered 7 AK47 rifles, 4 pump action guns, 3 automatic single barrel gun, one locally made gun, 8 IEDs (OGBUNIGWE), 245 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 45 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 231 live cartridges, 20 rounds of 9mm ammo, 3 baofeng radios, 3 CCTV cameras and 10 mobile phones amongst others.
d. Arrest of Suspected Violent Extremists /IPOB/ESN Criminal. On 2 and 3 March 2024, following reports, troops in separate operations arrested 9 suspected violent extremists/IPOB and cultists in Okigwe and Isuikwuato LGAs of Imo and Abia States respectively.
SUMMARY
28.Overall, troops of Operation UDO KA neutralized 25 terrorists and arrested 12 violent extremists. Troops recovered 12 AK47 rifles, 2 fabricated guns, 11 pump action guns, 3 automatic single barrel guns, one locally made gun, 379 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 45 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 20 rounds of 9mm ammo, 468 live cartridges, 8 IEDs, 3 magazines, 5 motorcycles 20 mobile phones and 3 HH boafeng radios amongst other items. All recovered items, arrested suspects and rescued hostages were handed over to the relevant authority for further action.
