NAF Airstrikes Target Bandits’ Enclaves in Kaduna, Neutralise Terrorists
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, has successfully dismantled a major bandits’ stronghold within Dunya Hill and Batauna Forest in Giwa Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
This was disclosed in a statement on Saturday by Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information.
According to Akinboyewa, the strategic airstrikes, conducted on Nov. 12 as part of the broader Operation Farautar Mujiya, were aimed at degrading the operational capacity of criminal groups terrorizing the Northwest.
“The affected areas, characterized by dense vegetation and cave systems, had long served as safe havens for bandit groups. The airstrikes were meticulously planned, following extensive intelligence gathering that identified high-value targets, including key logistics hubs and hidden armouries,” he said.
The operation resulted in the neutralisation of several terrorists and the destruction of critical stockpiles of weapons and resources.
Local sources confirmed that the precision strikes left the bandits’ enclaves in disarray, forcing many to flee. Reports also indicated the escape and liberation of multiple kidnap victims amid the chaos caused by the strikes.
“These sustained efforts not only demonstrate the Armed Forces’ commitment to restoring peace and security but also offer renewed hope to affected communities,” Akinboyewa added.
The airstrikes form part of the ongoing campaign to complement the efforts of ground forces in the region. NAF has assured the public that updates on the outcomes of Operation Farautar Mujiya will be provided in due course.
This latest success underscores the military’s dedication to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety and security of the Northwest.
