The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Bauchi has tasked National Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPPMED) to consider and ensure public health is maintained while carrying out their business in the State.
The State Coordinator, NAFDAC Mr Paul Kaima gave the warning at the inauguration of new Executives of NAPPMED Bauchi Chapter weekend in Bauchi.
He urged them to be extra careful and sanitize their business to ensure that the public health is maintained.

Kaima also urged them to stop unlawful practices that predispose them to hiding from NAFDAC and making them prone to scammers coming in the name of NAFDAC officials.
“The unlawful medicine practices mark its practitioners out as dealers in ineffective drugs, which reduce their customer base.
“Therefore, desist from selling fake drugs, saying that they contribute to the death of patients to a remarkable extent,” The coordinator said.
He assured them of a robust and cordial relationship as the association actively and continued to collaborate with NAFDAC.
Also Speaking, Alh Umaru Dahiru, State Patron of the Dealers emphasizes the need to be God fearing as life of the public is involved, calling on vendors to be extra careful with the type of drugs they sell to their consumers.
He urged them to comply with NAFDAC to create a healthy and safe environment for all, called for vigilant within their market area and neighborhoods and as well alert NAFDAC immediately if they suspect any irregularities.
While handing over the Mantle of leadership, the Outgoing President of Alhaji Tukur Abdu Azare called on the new elected officials to be focused and work with relevant stakeholders so as to move the Association forward.
He appreciated all members of the association for support given to him, during his tenure, the outgoing President solicited continued support to the newly elected officials, so as to achieve the objectives of the Association.
The newly swearing, President of NAPPMED, Mr. Samson J Magaji promised to work in synergy with all relevant agencies and promised to provide purposeful leadership that will take the association to greater heights.
On his part, The Chairman Electoral Committee, Mal Abdullahi Maigari Misau,appealed to the new executives to come up with the new ideas and programmes to improve the standard of their business, and to create a long lasting solution in bringing the association closer to the Government
Awards were given during the inauguration and Goodwill messages were presented by representatives of the State Ministry of health , NDLEA, relevant agencies, unions and Associations.
