The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar has commissioned new runway lights, other upgraded facilities and state-of-the-art airfield facilities at the Kaduna Military Airfield, marking a major milestone in its pursuit of aviation excellence.
The new facilities include a runway lighting system and an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Workshop, among other projects.
According to the CAS, the upgraded airfield will enhance pilots’ training practices, improve safety protocols, and boost operational efficiency. The new facilities will also enable the NAF to conduct seamless day and night operations against adversaries, and quickly recover from adverse weather conditions.
The CAS assured Nigerians that the upgraded facilities will make a significant difference in the fight against terrorism and other forms of criminality in the Northwest and beyond. He praised the dedication of NAF engineers, technicians, and support staff who worked on the project and acknowledged the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which has inspired transformative advancements in the NAF and national development.
The upgraded Kaduna Military Airfield is expected to play a critical role in enhancing the NAF’s capabilities and contributing to the overall security of Nigeria.
