The Advocacy for North-East Revival (ANER), a civil advocacy organization, has applauded the Nigerian Armed Forces for their success in eliminating a notorious terrorist commander, Munzur Ya Audu, and neutralizing several other terrorists over the past week.
Speaking to journalists on Friday in Abuja, ANER’s Convener, Salisu Yauri, expressed gratitude to the military for their decisive action against Ya Audu, describing him as a major threat to the livelihoods and safety of communities in the region.
“We are very grateful to the armed forces for bringing the evil reign of Munzur Ya Audu over our people to an end,” Yauri said. “Munzur Ya Audu was a thorn in our flesh, and his actions devastated countless families.”
Yauri also highlighted the military’s recent accomplishments, including the neutralization of 115 terrorists, the arrest of over 200 suspects, and the rescue of more than 200 kidnapped victims.
The group urged the military to continue its efforts against remaining terrorist elements who refuse to surrender or renounce violence.
“We remain committed to ensuring that peace returns to the North-East, allowing our people to rebuild their lives,” Yauri added. “We are confident that the armed forces, under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, will relentlessly pursue these criminals until they are completely neutralized.”
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have been credited with numerous victories across Borno and Yobe states. Recent operations were conducted in areas such as Kaga, Konduga, Bama, Jere, Damboa, Chibok, Mafa, Kukawa, and Gujba, leading to the surrender of several Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters, the arrest of collaborators, and the liberation of hostages.
These operations, ANER emphasized, reflect the military’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.
