NYSC begins unity walk to mark anniversary in Yobe

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commenced a unity walk to mark its 50th anniversary in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
The street walks of corps members comprise a week long chain of events at the orientation and some targeted local councils in the state.
Unveiling the activities of the street walk, yesterday, (Monday), in Damaturu, the NYSC State Coordinator, Hafsat Yerima, disclosed: “This Unity Walk was to mark the giant strides of the scheme recorded in the last five decades across the country.”

She noted that the NYSC is celebrating 50 years of selfless service to humanity and dedication to nation building, as well as the developmental strides recorded in the various sectors of the economy.
She, therefore, thanked individuals, corporate bodies, stakeholders and governments for their sustained support in implementing the 50-year scheme.
The Coordinator, also charged the corps members to be good ambassadors to the scheme, while executing project in their respective communities.
Excited with the unity walk anniversary, some Damaturu residents joined the corps members in some of the streets.
