Orientation course designed to equip you, NYSC boss tells corps members
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has urged the 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members undergoing Orientation Course in Gombe State to leverage the exercise to equip themselves.
Maj.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, the Director-General of NYSC, gave the charge on Wednesday while declaring open the 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course at the Amada temporary camp in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Ibrahim stated that the Orientation Course was the first cardinal programme of the NYSC aimed at introducing corps members to the objectives and programmes of the Scheme.
The DG, who was represented by Mrs Ada Imoni, the state coordinator of the scheme, said the orientation was designed to equip corps members for the tasks of the Service Year.
Ibrahim added that through lessons on the cardinal programmes, leadership coaching, paramilitary drills and other physical trainings as well as sensitization on topical national issues, amongst others, the corps member would be better equipped after the exercise.
“It is also a platform for kick-starting various activities that will enable you realize your potentials, and attain individual feats both within and beyond the period of service.
“I, therefore, enjoin you to avail yourselves of this once-in-a-life-time opportunity by participating actively in all the Camp activities,” he said.
The DG while reiterating that one of the major objectives of NYSC was the promotion of national unity and integration, urged the corps members to work together in an atmosphere filled with friendship, peace, harmony, and shared vision of a great and prosperous Nigeria.
A total of 1,269, 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members comprising 644 females and 625 males were registered for the exercise at the Amada camp.
