Police decorate 76 promoted officers in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has promoted no less than 76 officers to their higher next of ranks in the service.
According to the command, the promoted police officers should justify their elevations with professionalism and dedication to crime prevention.
Spokesman of the Command, SP Abdulkarim Dungus, on Tuesday in Damaturu, stated, “The police commissioner, Garba Ahmed, emphasised the need for higher responsibilities in the protection of people’s lives and property in the state.”
He noted that officers promoted to chief superintendents should justify their new ranks by reducing rates of crimes to the barest level in Yobe. Ahmed, therefore, declared that: “More promotions should be followed with increased
responsibilities of fighting crimes to protect life and property in nooks and crannies of the state.”The commissioner added that the fight against criminal activities, including terrorism, be extended to border communities with Niger.
“There higher you go, the tougher it becomes in fighting criminal activities,” he said, noting that wherever the officers fall short, they should continue to improve on crime prevention strategies.
According to him, this year’s promotions comprise deputy superintendents, superintendents, and the chief superintendents of police.
Family members, associated friends, and other security agencies congratulated the over six dozen elevated police officers.
Spokesman of Sector 2, Joint Task Force Northeast, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Lt-Col. Shehu Mohammed congratulated SP Abdulkarim Dungus for a well-deserved promotion to the higher rank in service.
