Resume Kolmani Oil Exploration, Bauchi Protesters Urge FG
In Bauchi, the Northern Agenda for Good Governance & Allied Groups called off a protest against nationwide hardships on Thursday, citing the need for peace and stability in Bauchi and Nigeria.
Coordinator Comrade Hashim Bala Pali expressed appreciation for the support from members and citizens for the initially planned protest.
He explained that their strong concerns included the stalled oil exploration in the Kolmani area, a project initiated by former President Muhammadu Buhari and attended by President Bola Tinubu two years ago.
The groups highlighted the abandonment of the Kolmani exploration site, emphasizing its socio-economic importance to the North East and the entire country.
They called for the resumption of the project and the return of the subsidy regime, arguing that these measures are crucial for the survival of the people amid current hardships.
