Samson Dauda Wins 2024 Mr. Olympia, Takes Home $600,000 Prize
Nigerian-British bodybuilder Samson Dauda has claimed the prestigious 2024 Mr. Olympia bodybuilding title, securing a $600,000 prize, the largest in the sport’s history.
The championship event, which marked the finale of the 2024 Olympia competition, took place at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, United States. Dauda emerged victorious among 15 top bodybuilders who made it to the final stage after intense preliminary rounds.
He outperformed Hadi Choopan, who placed second, and Derek Lunsford, the 2023 Olympia champion, who finished third.
Dauda, born in Lagos and raised in the United Kingdom, initially pursued rugby before transitioning to bodybuilding, thanks to encouragement from his rugby teammates. He earned his IFBB Pro card in 2017 after winning the overall title at the IFBB Amateur Diamond Cup in Rome, a pivotal moment in his career.
His professional debut followed in 2018 at the EVLS Prague Showdown, where he placed 5th. Dauda’s first professional victory came in 2021 at the EVLS Prague Pro, which qualified him for the 2022 Mr. Olympia, where he finished 6th.
With his latest achievement in 2024, Dauda has solidified his position as a leading figure in the world of bodybuilding.
