Shehu of Borno Advocates Reintroduction Haraji and Jingali to Avert Farmers-Harders Conflict in Borno

His Royal Highness The Shehu of Borno Dr Abubakar Garbai ELKANEMI has advocated the reintroduction of local Tax Haraji and Cattle Tax Jangali to forestall the continuous Farmers/Herders clashes in the State.
The Shehu made the call when the high powered committee on Farmers/Herders clashes paid him a curtsey visit at his palace in central Maiduguri.
Our correspondent report that The committee which is under the chairmanship of Alh Tijjani Goni Modu Special Adviser to the Governor on Animals and Fisheries Development.
The Adviser has intimidated the Royal Father on the need to bring a lasting solution to the clashes which always result in loss of lives and properties.
Alh Goni Modu explained that they are mandated to visit all Local Government areas and interact with all stakeholders within Two Months. The committee is comprised of State and Local Government officials as well as Security representatives.
