The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has in a daring operation, dealt a devastating blow to terrorists operating in the Mandara Mountains.
Director of Public Relations and Information Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet said, aerial bombardments conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai on July 3, 2024, targeted terrorist gatherings at Degbewa and Chinene, resulting in the elimination of numerous terrorists and destruction of their structures.
The air strikes followed extensive aerial surveillance over several days, which revealed the terrorists’ consistent presence in the area. The locations were suspected to be used for manufacturing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and storing weapons. The terrorists, seemingly unaware of the impending attack, were caught off guard, and their attempted escape was thwarted by canon fire.
This decisive operation showcases the NAF’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring national security. The success of the mission is a testament to the effectiveness of the Air Component’s intelligence gathering and precision strikes.
As the NAF continues to intensify its efforts, terrorists are being sent a clear message: their hideouts will be found, and they will be brought to justice.
