The military’s intensified war effort, which includes mobilization of lethal forces and air strikes, has destroyed a substantial part of the combat capacity of these terror groups and their leadership.
Notable successes include the elimination of notorious terrorist commander Mai Hijabi in Jigawa State, disruption of oil theft valued at N688,125,150.00, and recovery of 153 assorted weapons and 2,182 ammunition.
In the Niger Delta, troops discovered and destroyed 2 dugout pits, 58 boats, and 39 storage tanks, recovering 789,200 litres of stolen crude oil and 64,950 litres of illegally refined AGO.
The military has reassured citizens that it is winning the war and is reassessing operations to better secure and protect citizens.
“We recognize the urgency to ensure peace and security for all citizens across the country,” said Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations. “We are working on new strategies to better protect the nation.”
