Tiamin rice company establish 18bn farm to employ over 1000 in Bauchi

Tiamin Rice Limited has established an eighteen billion Naira (18 bn) rice farm that would employment to over 1000 people in udubu, Gamawa local government area of Bauchi state.
The Managing Director, Tiamin Rice Limited Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Zabi disclosed this during the foundation laying of two blocks of six class rooms at Begu village of Gamawa LGA on Tuesday.

He said the farm is the largest modern farm in Nigeria with ten thousand hectares with a projection to produce 120,000 tons of rice per day and other farm produce like maize.
“The farm is expected to give 120,000 tons per year as well provide employment to our teeming unemployed youth,” He said
He added that the land was fully acquired through the Bauchi state government after payment of N300m as compensation.
The MD Tiamin pointed out that the construction of the classrooms is part of the social responsibility of the company to the community they operate.
Zabi appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state, Katagum emirate and District head of Udubu for their support and assistance towards making the project a reality.
Governor Mohammmed who was represented by his senior special assistance on empowerment Mr Khalid Barau lauded Tiamin Rice limited for its corporate responsibility.
“Even during Covit-19 donated over four thousand bags of rice to the Bauchi state government to cushion the effect of Coronavirus.
“The effort of Tiamin Rice limited in the state over 2000 peoples will be employed.
“The construction of two blocks of class and veterinary clinic will directly improve the sociology and economic development of the people of the area,” Barau said.
Meanwhile, at a courtesy call on the district head of Udubu.Alhaji Aminu Mohd Malami,The MD said the farm will employ over 1000 youth from Udubu town as a staff and will be trained in modern farming by professionals from Bangladesh.
He appreciated the warm reception accorded to him by people of Gamawa local government, noting that Udubu town and Zabi have long standing cordial relationship this inform him to recommend for citing of farm in the area.
In his remark, Malami commended the MD Tiamin Rice for citing the large farm project in Udubu town.

He maintained that the community and entire people of the state will no doubt benefit from the Tiamin farm Udubu.
Malami however called on the people to embrace modernity which is happening on a daily basis, admonishing the community to take the ownership of the farm for the overall development of the area.
