Tinubu Not Presenting 2025 Budget Wednesday – NASS Clarifies
The National Assembly (NASS) has debunked reports claiming that President Bola Tinubu will present the 2025 budget to a joint session on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Mr. Bullah Bi-Allah, Director of Information, Secretary of Research and Information (SR&I) at the National Assembly, dismissed the claims as false and unfounded, urging the public to disregard them.
“The attention of the Secretary, Research and Information, National Assembly, Dr. Ali Barde Umoru, has been drawn to the purported fake news credited to him,” the statement read.
It added: “The news alleging that President Bola Tinubu will present the 2025 budget tomorrow is baseless and without merit. The public is advised to rely only on verified information through official communication channels of the National Assembly.”
Bi-Allah also clarified that the National Assembly is yet to approve the 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper, which must precede the official presentation of the 2025 budget.
“In light of this, we warn against the dissemination of misleading information and urge all inquiries to follow proper channels for accurate updates,” the statement concluded.
The clarification comes amid widespread rumors circulating on social and mainstream media about the alleged budget presentation.
