Troops Arrest Three Terrorist Collaborators in Taraba
Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have apprehended three individuals suspected of collaborating with terrorist elements in Taraba State.
In a statement released on Friday by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the arrests were made during an operation on Oct. 15 at Landey Jessy village in Lau Local Government Area, following intelligence reports of bandit activity in the Kona Range of Mountains.
Oni explained that the operation was executed with precision, leading to the capture of the suspects, whose identities remain undisclosed. During initial interrogations, one suspect confessed that his residence was used to store weapons for the terrorists after their operations.
Additionally, one of the suspects was identified by a victim who had survived a kidnapping attempt in Iware, Ardo-Kola Local Government Area, in September. All three suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring national security. Oni urged the public to continue providing credible intelligence to help combat terrorism and other security threats across the country.
