Nigerian Army (NA) has once again emphasized the importance of sufficient regimentation and reinforcing warrior culture in order to improve soldier professionalism in combat operations and administrative responsibilities.
The Special Guest of Honour and Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, stated this at the opening ceremony of the training seminar organized by the Army Headquarters Department of Army Transformation and Innovation at Headquarters 3 Division Nigerian Army, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Jos.
He said the Army would continue to review its strategies to defeat adversaries in line with international best practices, including kinetic and non-kinetic means.
Major General AE Abubakar, General Officer Commanding 3 Division NA and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), represented the army chief, who stated that in order to achieve operational success, commanders at all levels must revitalize the fighting spirit of troops under them through regimentation, discipline, and critical thinking.
General Lagbaja praised the Army Headquarters Department of Army Transformation and Innovation for holding the seminar to sharpen troops’ combat spirit and develop methods to handle post-traumatic stress disorder in the NA.
In addition, the COAS advised the participants to be innovative and devoted to attaining the Nigerian Army’s constitutional mandate, while commending troops’ efforts in dealing with security concerns in the country.
