Troops of OPHD eliminates Ten bandits, rescued six captives in Zamfara
Troops of the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) have eliminated 10 bandits in the Northwest of Zamfara State.
It was gathered that the bandits were eliminated in an ambush conducted by the troops in the road between GADAN ZAIMA – DAN MARKE Bukkuyum LGA, at about 2200hrs to 0700hrs on Tuesday, Aug 8, 2023.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region that the troops succeeded in killing several armed bandits and rescued about six captives who were kidnapped by the bandits in a forest between Mahuta and Zuru in Kebbi State.

He said After a heavy gun fight, the troops succeeded in capturing some of the bandits alive and recovered six AK-47 rifles, a self-propelled gun known as a self-propelled machine gun (GPMG), as well as over one million naira cash, mobile phones and Marijuana.
The Commander of the Joint Task Force Northwest OPHD Major General Godwin Mutkut has commended the troops efforts and charged them not to rest until all bandits’ enclaves and hideouts are cleared.
He assured that no bandits enclave will be left untouched in his areas of operational responsibility.
