The Acting Head of Mission and Force Commander (HoM/FC), United Nations Stabilisation Force for Abyei UNISFA, Major General Benjamin Sawyerr, along with a contingent of the Mission Leadership Team, convened a significant gathering with the Ngok Dinka Paramount Chief and several other Chiefs at the esteemed Paramount Chief’s residence in Abyei.
The meeting, which took place on November 27th, stands as a pivotal element of the HoM/FC’s ongoing interaction with local leaders. The extensive deliberations encompassed a range of topics, with a specific emphasis on overall security in Abyei, the recent peaceful demonstration orchestrated by the local community, and collaborative initiatives with UNISFA, among other pertinent matters.
These routine gatherings between UNISFA’s leadership and the Ngok Dinka leaders represent a key part of cooperative endeavors aimed at addressing and resolving the persistent challenges within the region.
