According to the team leader of WOWICAN, Bauchi state chapter, Gladys Mbami, plans are underway to expand the project to other communities in the state to achieve the desired results.
She said the project was conceived by ActionAid in view of the low rate of women in active politics and leadership.
She added that the one-day training drew over 40 women leaders from Mwari and Gwaranga communities in Bogoro local government, urging the participants to pass the message to other women.
Also speaking, a facilitator at the training, Salami Kolawole, said the training was aimed at equipping women with necessary leadership skills and their rights to education, politics and other aspects of human endeavour.
