Yobe Recruits 42 Community Nurses to Strengthen Healthcare
The Yobe State Primary Health Care Board has recruited 42 community nurses to enhance healthcare services across the state.
In a statement on Saturday, the board’s spokesman, Alhaji Adamu Abba, said the newly recruited nurses were drawn from the third set of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu.
According to Abba, Dr. Babagana Machina, the board’s Executive Secretary, has presented appointment letters to the nurses, who will be deployed to primary healthcare centers across the state’s 17 local government areas to address workforce shortages.
“The administration of Gov. Mai Mala Buni has constructed or renovated 142 primary healthcare centers since 2019, fulfilling his campaign promise to establish a standard facility in each of the 178 political wards in Yobe,” Abba said.
He added that the ongoing recruitment drive aims to boost manpower and improve service delivery at healthcare facilities.
Machina congratulated the nurses and urged them to be committed to their duties in serving the people.
