The Yobe State Government has awarded a contract for the procurement of 1,250 hairdressing equipment and accessories for distribution to women.
The Commissioner of Wealth Creation, Empowerment, and Employment Generation (WCEEG), Hon. Aji Yerima Bularafa, disclosed this during the signing of the procurement contract over the weekend in Damaturu.
“The N233.69 million worth of hairdressing salon equipment will be distributed to women in addressing unemployment and poverty in the state.”
Bularafa noted that the efficient applications of hairdressing salon equipment could also improve women’s livelihoods in the various communities.
He said that the procurement of the hairdressing salon equipment and accessories comprises 50 each of them to be distributed free of charge.
He, therefore, thanked Governor Mai Mala Buni for creating the Ministry for WCEEG to improve the living conditions of people, despite the 15-year Boko Haram insurgency. Yerima also urged the contractor, Dynamic Ideas International (DMII), to adhere strictly to the terms of the contract, as 50 percent down payments were approved by the state government.
