Zulum to partner EU on humanitarian services delivery in Borno

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state, is to partner the European Union (EU) on humanitarian services delivery in the State.
According to him, the partnership was to enable the State government overcome humanitarian challenges in ensuring sustainable economic development in 27 local councils.
Zulum made this known on Thursday in Abuja, while meeting with a delegation of EU led by the Director of European Commission Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), Dr Andrea Koulaimah.

The EU team comprises the Deputy Head of EU delegation, Zissimos Vergoo, Head of Office ECHO Abuja, Bart Witteveen, and the Head of human development, EU delegation, Leila Ben Amor.
On EU’s humanitarian services and development, the Governor said: “Whether humanitarian or development, we are all working towards a common goal of a peace in the state, Northeast and the world at large.
“Borno State government is not against any partners and we welcome all of you here in the country.
The State government since 2019 built over 12,000 resettlement houses with thousands of others rehabilitated and the people resettled with livelihoods.
He noted that the restoration of livelihoods was enable the people to pick up the pieces of their lives, after the 14-year terrorism in the state.
Equipped modern health and educational facilities were built with employment of over 7,000 teachers and medical personnel including doctors and nurses.
The EU delegation meeting was also attended by Sen. Kaka Shehu Lawan, the All-Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Bello Ayuba, Amb. Adamu Abbas and the Principal Secretary, Government House, Mustapha Ali Busuguma.
