2023: Fusion774 Group Endorses Amaechi For President
Fusion774 Group has today endorsed the presidential ambition of RT-Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, saying that he is the best man for the country’s number one job.
Fusion774, a political governance and Socio-economic advocacy group for the enthronement of good governance in the country, gave the endorsement in a press release signed by the National Coordinator, Sadiq Abubakar Jikta, on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
The Group, whose goal is to support and promote credible, competent, intelligent and visionary leader with the capacity to reform, rebrand and transform the political landscape of Nigeria, had earlier called on the Nigeria Envoy to the Republic of Benin, Amb. TY Buratai, to contest for the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The National Coordinator said the former Minister of Transportation, RT- Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, has established himself as a true democrat, a peace ambassador and patriotic Nigerian who stands for the unification for and cementing the already fragmented pieces called Nigeria as one indivisible Nation.
Jikta said that the purpose of the press briefing is also to update Nigerians on the progress the Group has made on the process of selecting our leaders for elections. He noted that insecurity is a major challenge undermining the growth and development of the country today.
Part of the statement reads, “The purpose is to update Nigerians on the progress we have achieved on the process of participating in selecting our leaders for elections.
“In our statement, we gave reasons for this contest. These reasons are nothing more than worries of every patriotic Nigerian. The state of insecurity in the country, the treat to our national security is of immense concern. We as Nigerians find the country at a critical crossroad.
A moment of truth for our democracy, the moment for truth for our survival as a country. Escalating insecurity, hard unemployment, deepening social inequality, uncertainty, inequality for Nigerians undermining Nigeria unity and stability. So our decision must address this historic moment. It is time for all hand to be on the deck for us to survive as a country”.
The National Coordinator said in the statement that the former COAS, Lt.Gen TY Buratai (rtd) appreciated and thanked Fusion774 Group for seeing him fit for the elated office of the President. And that the several calls for him to contest made him to come out and make a public statement on his stance.
The Ambassador explained his position as a serving public servant, and made the Group to understand that they are not the first group that called on him to contest. But the calls have made him to expand consultations in that regard, and told the group of his decision to support Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Ameachi for the 2023 elections.
Jikta therefore called on all members and APC delegates to support the aspiration of RT-Hon Rotimi Amaechi in the forthcoming party primary.
