Aliko Dangote Named Ournigeria Magazine Man of the Year for 2024
The President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has been named “Ournigeria Man of the Year 2024” by the Publishers and Management of OurNigeria Magazine. This honor recognizes his remarkable achievement in establishing Nigeria’s first private petroleum refinery, a milestone that renews hope in the nation’s potential.
Dr. A.K. Peters, Chairman of the 2024 Ournigeria Award Planning Committee, disclosed this during an interview with Northeaststar Magazine in Abuja. He emphasized that Dangote’s accomplishment exemplifies patriotism and vision, underscoring the possibility of a brighter future for Nigeria.
“The Ournigeria award is an annual platform celebrating exceptional trailblazers and patriotic individuals who have significantly contributed to the Nigerian brand,” Peters explained.
Themed “Nigeria Rising: Celebrating Excellence and Charting the Future”, the 2024 awards aim to spotlight individuals whose dedication and hard work have transformed the nation.
The event, scheduled to gather prominent figures across various sectors, will feature technocrats, politicians, industrial leaders, military officers, and members of the diplomatic community. Elder statesman Alhaji Umar Abdulmutallab will chair the occasion, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
Peters highlighted that the awardees were selected through a rigorous and competitive process overseen by a team of assessors. Finalists were narrowed down from 10 nominees in each of the 22 award categories, ensuring transparency and credibility in the selection process.
