He said: “Our staff, NBA members and the general public were protected against the deadly pandemic.”
The Law Week, which has the theme: “Technology as a tool for access to justice during COVID-19 pandemic and beyond,” disclosed that members should take advantage of law week to improve on their knowledge and skills.
He said that the automation of the judiciary will enhance the performance of justice delivery; where the overall interest of a common man to access justice be timely achieved.
According to him, Governor Babagana Zulum holds the judiciary and NBA in high esteem in creating an enabling environment for the Ministry of Justice and the judiciary.
On the adoption of technology, the NBA’s Maiduguri branch, Abba Mallam Umate has said that the initiative has put the State judiciary to migrate to virtual court proceedings in Nigeria.
He noted that the achievements wouldn’t have been successful without the efforts of Justice Zannah.
“Justice Zannah has made the NBA lead in the information technology while others follow,” he noted.
He added that during the COVID-19 pandemic, courts were closed down in the state, while litigants were forcefully shunned the rights of access to justice.
The shutdown of courts, according to him, is a result of government efforts to protect life and property against the deadly virus.
