Details of the Cabinet meeting of the Ministry of Education Republic of Rwanda held 29th July 2022 has been revealed.
This is contained in a communique issued by the the education ministry, Republic of Rwanda, signed by the Minister of education, Dr. Valentine Uwamariya and made available to newsmen.
According to the communique, the Cabinet discussed strategies to improve teachers’ welfare, including access to finance through Umwanimu SACCO, promoting the quality of education in public and government-aided schools for general education and TVET.
The communique stated that the decision reached at the meeting were to allocate 5billion FRW to Umwainimu SACCO in order to strengthen liquidity conditions and access to finance by teachers, and to increase salaries for teachers.
The communique also revealed that the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting, Ministry of Education shall come into force from the payment of the teachers’ salaries of August 2022.
