Emir of Gombe confers title Makama Babba Gombe to PS Jalo Ali

The traditional title of “Makama Babba Gombe” conferred to Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali, Permanent Secretary, in charge of Budget in the Ministry of) Finance and Economic Development by Emir of Gombe, His Royal Highness,Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar 111 is based on his intimidating pedigrees.

Emir of Gombe who is also the chairman, Gombe State Traditional Council of Chiefs and Emirs gives out traditional titles to distinguished personalities, scholars of repute, eminent administrators, technocrats, bureaucrats and public spirited individuals that have used their resources, talents,time to contribute to the Gombe State in particular and Nigeria in general in the areas of scholarship, developments, and the upliftment of the society.

These classes of men, no doubt, receives the royal blessings from the Emir of Gombe,His Royal Highness,Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar 111.

Recently, the Emir of Gombe conferred the prestigious title on the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as “Dan Majen Gombe”, for the developmental strides and pragmatic leadership recorded under his watch.

The newest recipient of the traditional title is Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali, a man with multiple awards, recognitions and commendations from different strata of the society.

Reacting to the confirmation of the prestigious title to Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali, the Executive Governor of the state, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya commended the Emir of Gombe, His Royal Highness, Dr Abubakar Shehu Abubakar 111 considering Jalo Ali for worthy honour and hoped that the Makama Babba Gombe would justify the confidence the Emir, Emirate and entire Gombe State have for him through redoubling hie efforts, commitment, dedication and patriotism expected of him.

The Governor described the Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali as a gentleman, hardworking and committed senior civil servant in the state.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali was born on 8th July,1968 in Gombe.

He attended Central Primary School, Gombe, from 1973 to 1980 and went to Government Teachers’ College, Sakwa from 1980 to 1984 for his secondary education.

The Young Jalo Ali who was desirous of higher education proceeded to the University of Maiduguri where he bagged B.Sc (Hons) Economics from 1986 to 1991.

Ibrahim Jalo Ali who knows that education is power and gateway to successful career in life, entered the lecture-hall again, this time at the prestigious Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi for his post Graduate Diploma on Financial Management from 1986 to 1997.

The new
“Makama Baba Gombe”, who is a fine gentle man, workaholic, dedicated and committed started his eventful career as Planning Officer 11 and rose through dint of hard works to the position of Director, Budget in Gombe State Civil s5ervice in 2009 before his elevation and appointment as the Permanent Secretary.

Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali has attended workshops, seminars and conferences both nationally and internationally among which is the Fiscal Policy and Budget for Senior Officials of the Federal and State Governments of Nigeria at Israel in 2011.

Other trainings Ibrahim Jalo Ali attended and obtained certificates is the understanding International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), in United Arab Emirate,2011 and Economic Development Strategy for Nigeria in South Korea ,2014.

Also, he attended Debt Management Felicity Stakeholders from ” Borrow Without Sorrow”, in Austria in 2017 respectively.

The Makama Babba Gombe who is a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance is married and had children while his hobbies included reading, and traveling.
