Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai Rtd has expressed satisfaction with the giant strides of the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in the areas of industrialization and overall development of the State.
Buratai made the remark when he visited the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park and the Dadinkowa Hydro Power Plant in the company of the Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau.
General Buratai expressed hope that Governor Yahaya is committed to the development of Gombe State and from what he has seen in the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, there is a greater hope that the state would transform into the industrial hub of the Northeast and Nigeria at large.
“The idea of an Industrial Park is quite visionary and for starting this work and and reaching this level is very impressive. I am looking forward to see Gombe becoming the Dubai of the Northeast and Nigeria”.
Ambassador Buratai commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for having this great vision noting that with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of opening the door for foreign direct investment, Gombe is a sure bet investment destination in Nigeria.
He stated further that, facilities like this will go a long way in creating the needed employment for the teeming abled youths of the state.
While inspecting the Hydro-electric Power Plants at Dadinkowa Dam, General Buratai said the visit has enlightened him on operations of the power plant.
He applauded the initiative of establishing the plant and expressed hope that it will mitigate Nigeria’s power problems which has hitherto become a clog in the wheel of the nations industries and productivity.
He called on the consulting company to engage in corporate social responsibility in the area of housing, education, health and job creation with a view to coming to the aid of the host communities who were displaced from their vacations and lands.
On ensuring that Gombe joins Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) Buratai said they will continue to make their voices heard until it happened.
Also speaking, the Deputy Governor said Gombe state is committed to industrialization, development and improving of the general welfare of the people.
Narrowing down to smoke specifics Dr. Jatau intimated the Retired Military Chief of how their administration employed a non- schooled technologist as a lecturer in to the state University in an effort to encourage the youths delve into innovations and creativity towards self reliance and productivity.
On the aspect of security of lives of properties in the state he said, going by the principle of system theory and organizations the administration has evolved an all inclusive policy whereby all security outfits including other stakeholders are partners leading to synergy and reducing inter agency conflicts apart from ensuring safety of lives and properties.
While stressing that the administration would ensure the inclusion of Gombe State in hydro power producing states, he called on the consultant managing the operations of the power plant to assist the host communities through corporate social responsibility.
The Deputy Governor explained that the concept of the Industrial Park is to bring development, create job opportunities, and increase the general level of living standard of the people.
