The airstrikes took place on Friday, June 16, 2023, and targeted the river banks of Jibularam and Sabon Tumbum in the Marte Local Government Area.
These decisive victories were achieved through meticulous Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that identified the location of the terrorist leaders and their fighters.
Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, received this information from intelligence sources.
Following the airstrikes, ground assessments indicated that the two commanders and scores of terrorists were killed, while the surviving and wounded Mujahideens fled towards the axis of Tudun Wulgo and Ngilewa.
The operation was led by Maj Gen Ibrahim Ali, the Theatre Commander of the North East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, working in conjunction with surface forces.
This successful offensive is part of OPERATION WARUN 3, an ongoing campaign aimed at eradicating Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists from the North East.
