By Lawrence Audu
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said it has not carried out air operations in Kaduna State in the last 24 hours.
Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, in a statement refuting reports alleging NAF’s Air operations leading to accidental killing of civilians in Kaduna.
Gabkwet while urging media outlets to exercise diligence before publishing unverified reports, emphasized the falsity of the circulating news and clarified that the NAF has not conducted any air operations in Kaduna State and its environs during the specified time frame.
Additionally, he pointed out that the NAF is not the exclusive entity utilizing combat armed drones in the northwestern region of Nigeria, suggesting the possibility of other actors being responsible for the alleged incident.
The NAF’s response underscores the importance of verifying information before dissemination, highlighting the potential consequences of unconfirmed reports. With this statement, the NAF aims to rectify the misinformation surrounding the alleged air operations and unequivocally deny their involvement in the reported incident.
