A total of 2,026 corps members of the 2024 Batch A, Stream I, on Tuesday, officially began their 21-day mandatory orientation course in Kaduna.
According to the reports 1,191 corps members were deployed to the state, while 835 others joined them from Abuja, owing to limited camping facilities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The reports gathered that the 835 corps members would be posted back to Abuja after the orientation course.

Addressing the corps members shortly after their swearing-in, the NYSC Coordinator in the state, Mr Hassan Taura, urged them to participate in all camp activities.
Taura reminded them that white collar jobs were not readily available, hence, the need for them to take part in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training programme.
This, he said, would help them become self-reliant at the end of their service year.
He also enjoined the corps members to respect all the camp officials and obey all the rules, stressing that indiscipline would not be tolerated.
The NYSC coordinator thanked the state government and all the scheme’s collaborating agencies, individuals and organisations for their contributions to the smooth commencement of the orientation course.
Earlier, Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State had encouraged the corps members to contribute their own quota toward the development of the state and the country in general.
Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, restated his administration’s commitment to supporting the scheme and prioritising the welfare of corps members.
He also assured that the state government would continue working with relevant security operatives in ensuring that residents of the state, including the corps members, slept with their two eyes closed.
The governor commended the scheme, particularly in the areas of national integration and development over the years, while urging it to maintain the tempo in further fostering unity and cohesion amongst Nigerians.
