“We therefore must use this opportunity to pray fervently for our dear state and the nation as well as for those in authority as we collectively battle to combat the many socio-economic challenges facing our nation and humanity.”
He expressed confidence that the nation would undoubtedly overcome its difficulties and emerge stronger as a result of the citizens’ prayers, dedication, and patriotism.
Along with urging the well-to-do members of society to help those in need, he urged the clerics to emphasize the value of peaceful coexistence during their Tafsir sessions and to refrain from anything that might endanger the peace and unity of the state and the nation.
The Governor particularly admonished the Muslim Ummah to always demonstrate in their lives the spirit and ideals of Ramadan and by extension, Islam by living according to the tenets of the religion, which promotes peace, kindness and obedience.
He also asked the residents of the state to uphold the law and not jeopardize the peaceful coexistence that now exists in the state by harbouring any narrow-minded sentiments.
