2 Men Arrested for Alleged Murder of Police Inspector in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged murder of Police Inspector Ibrahim Maizabuwa, who was attached to the Gombe State Command.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Yola. He revealed that the suspects, Ezekiel Kefas (67) and Stephen Zabadi (44), both residents of Wamsa Suwa village in Lamurde Local Government Area, were apprehended for their alleged role in the crime.
Nguroje stated that the incident occurred on Nov. 11, 2024, when the suspects conspired to kill and bury the victim in a shallow grave. The inspector had reportedly visited the village to demand the return of three cows he had lent Kefas to support his farming activities.
“The suspects conspired, isolated, killed, and buried the victim. On Nov. 19, 2024, the command received a complaint from Danlami Maizabuwa, the victim’s son. Following investigations, the suspects led detectives from the Anti-Homicide Unit to the shallow grave where the victim’s body was exhumed for autopsy,” Nguroje explained.
The statement further quoted the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, as condemning the act. He also assured that security operatives had been deployed to track down the other suspects who remain at large.
Morris reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring that the arrested suspects face diligent prosecution.
