Adamawa Government Seeks International Support for Digital Learning
The Adamawa State Government has appealed to international partners for support in implementing digital and e-learning initiatives across the state.
Dr. Garba Pella, the Commissioner for Education, made the appeal during the commemoration of the International Day of Education in Yola. The event, organized by the Education in Emergency Working Group (EiEWG), highlighted the challenges facing the education sector in the state.
Pella emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing education but noted that achieving its goals required significant funding. “The state government has allocated substantial resources in the 2025 budget for education development, but we need additional support from international partners to ensure success,” he said.
Stephen Maiduguri, EiEWG Coordinator, highlighted the critical role of education in sustainable development, noting that Adamawa’s security challenges and displacement issues have impacted learning. He stressed the importance of exploring innovative solutions to ensure no child is left behind.
“This is a call to action to equip teachers and students with the tools needed to thrive and guarantee access to quality education,” Maiduguri stated.
Dr. Murtala Babayi, Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), described education as a “weapon to fight injustice” and called for inclusive and equitable learning opportunities.
The event featured a road walk from Unity Flyover to the State House of Assembly by stakeholders, symbolizing a call for policy reforms and advocacy to build a future-ready education system.
“This initiative is essential for ensuring every child has access to quality education, paving the way for sustainable development and a brighter future,” Babayi added.
