Adamawa Hosts Youth Leadership Clinic Empower to Tomorrow’s Leaders

In a groundbreaking initiative, Adamawa State played on Thursday, hosted to a Youth Leadership Clinic in Yola, the state capital. The event, organized by the Doctoral Candidates of the Abuja Leadership Centre at the University of Abuja, brought together a diverse group of young leaders including school prefects, captains, monitors, and student leaders from selected public and private secondary schools in the state. They were immersed in a programme designed to equip them with essential leadership skills.
Held at the Concordia College auditorium in Yola, the Leadership Clinic saw over 200 students in attendance. Participants were provided with valuable insights into patriotism, citizenship, governance, accountability, rights, responsibilities, duties, and obligations. The significance of national institutions such as the Armed Forces was emphasized by the clinic’s organizers, Dr. MS Abubakar and Mr. Tijani IYA Abubakar.
In his opening remarks, the organizer, Dr. MS Abubakar advised the future leaders to stay away from drugs, gangsterism, thurggery, homosexuality and Yahoo yahoo activities.

The future leaders were very excited about the leadership clinic and urged the organizers to put together more of such activities in the future.
After the brilliant presentations of the organizers, the participants were divided into three syndicate groups who brainstormed on content of the presentations and came up with valuable take home by the participants.
The event which was the first of it’s kind in the whole of Northern Nigeria, was chaired by a senior citizen and former Managing Director of the Abuja Enterprises Agency, Dr. Tukur Arabi. Several other dignitaries formed the faculty and presented highly motivational goodwill messages to the participants. They were, Commandant of the Command Science School, Numan, Lt. Col. Samuel Sanaje who represented the Corps Commander of the Nigerian Army Education Corps.
The Brigade Commander of 23 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Yola, was represented by Major Babawale Omifisayo.
Other members of the faculty were the State Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barr. A.T Shehu as well as the Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post Primary School Management Board, Mr. Samuel J. Wagereng.
The student leaders were assured of a great Nigeria in future where they will be the drivers of the economy and operators of state craft.
The student leaders were assured that they will be presented with certificates of participation and that some of them will be selected to represent Adamawa State at the Zonal and National levels respectively.
The event marked a significant step in nurturing the next generation of leaders in Adamawa State, empowering them with the knowledge and tools necessary to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. The youth leadership clinic served as a platform for inspiring and guiding young minds towards a path of responsible and effective leadership.
