Al-Ansar Foundation Moves Closer to Establishing Ummah University in Abuja
In a decisive move to expand access to quality higher education, the Founder and President of Al-Ansar Foundation, Dr. Mohammed Kyari Dikwa, has led a high-level delegation to the National Universities Commission (NUC) to seek regulatory approval for the proposed Ummah University of Nigeria, Abuja (UMUN).
Dr. Dikwa, known for his commitment to advancing education, reaffirmed the Foundation’s dedication to bridging the educational gap in Nigeria.
Following the successful establishment of Al-Ansar University in Maiduguri, the Foundation is now set to replicate its impact in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“We deeply appreciate the support and encouragement from the NUC. This visit marks a major milestone in our journey toward making Ummah University of Nigeria a reality,” Dr. Dikwa stated.
In response, the NUC Executive Secretary, Professor Ribadu, commended the initiative, emphasising the critical role of private universities in broadening access to education and creating employment opportunities.
He assured the delegation of the commission’s support, directing the relevant department to facilitate the First Resource Verification visit to evaluate the university’s readiness.
This engagement with the NUC represents a significant stride toward the realization of Ummah University of Nigeria, Abuja, bringing the vision of enhanced educational opportunities one step closer to fruition.
