Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has declared a three-day public holiday for workers to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) for the 2023 General Elections.
The work-free days are slated for Wednesday, June 29 to Friday, July 1, 2022, to enable civil servants to register and obtain their PVCs.
Acting Head of Service (HoS), Garba Bilal, yesterday (Tuesday), in Damaturu disclosed that public holidays will enable workers to travel to their respective Local Governments Areas to register and obtain PVCs.
“All the workers are to register, revalidate and collect their PVCs unfailingly at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices,” he said.
He reiterated the importance of the ongoing voter’s cards exercises in all the 36 states in the country.
He, therefore, urged the workers to fully participate in the “revalidation and registration exercise” for a hitch-free 2023 elections.
“It is hoped that the civil servants would reciprocate this gesture by ensuring that they participate in the exercise,” he said.
