Fuel Scarcity: Hike bites harder as Residents lament
Many roads across Abuja Metropolis were today blocked by motorists queueing for fuel causing serious traffic gridlock on the roads thereby disrupting the morning rush hour.
Queues in some filling stations especially NNPC were as long as two kilometres.
The situation became chaotic, especially at filling stations selling between #180 and #260 per litre as buyers struggled to buy fuel even putting their lives at risk by blocking the roads.
Northeast Star reporter who wenaroundnd to observe the situation however sighted some security operatives including police trying to clear the roads for easy access.

Many filling stations in the FCT have not been dispensing fuel for weeks now fueling speculations among members of the public that there was no end in sight with the lingering fuel crisis
At all the stations visited, motorists discussed what they went through, from sleeping in their vehicles all through the night or leaving their houses early in the morning to queue.
Some of those who spoke with our reporter expressed sadness that government could not resolve the fuel problem since November 2022 even as the Election approaches.
