The Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists on Tuesday attacked a village in Gubio Local Government Areas of Borno State.
It was gathered that attackers stormed the Gallumu village, located about 9 kilometres to Gubio town on Hilux trucks and motorcycles with heavy weapons at about 1:30 pm.
Top intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in Lake Chad, that they stormed a construction site government to attack the workers.
The workers ran away into the bushes amidst sporadic gun shooting in different directions.
The sources said that the angry terrorists set ablaze two vehicles and the site and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, Zagazola understands that the troops of Operation Hadin Kai(OPHK), successfully repelled another attack by the ISWAP terrorists in the Khaddamari community in Jere Local government near Maiduguri, the capital of the restive North East of Borno.
It was gathered that the terrorists in large numbers stormed the general area in an attempt to attack a military formation of 195 Battalion Jere and began shooting sporadically.
The sources said that the troops swiftly engaged the terrorists in a gun battle and forced them to retreat.
The troops in conjunction with the Air Task Force Operation Hadin Kai were deployed to go in pursuit of the fleeing terrorists.
