Military special forces kill six Boko Haram terrorists in Borno

The 199 Special Forces Battalion, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has neutralized six Boko Haram terrorists in an ambush laid along the Maiduguri-Damboa road in Borno state.
The military on December 31, 2022 also recovered weapons and motorcycles used in crossing the road into Sambisa Forest in Damboa local Council.
Unveiling the feat over the terrorists, on Sunday, in Maiduguri, A counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed that; “It was based on credible intelligence in collaboration with the Civilian JTF in conducting a successful ambush against the terrorists on December 31, 2022 at Kayamla community, 25 kilometres southeast of Maiduguri.

On how the terrorists were neutralized, he said: “In the fire fight that ensued after the ambush, six terrorists were instantly gunned down,” adding that some of the fighters escaped with gunshot wounds into the forest.
Besides, a military source in Maiduguri, also told The Guardian that the exploitation conducted by the troops also confirmed traces of blood along the terrorists’ forest escape routes.
The source added that the OPHK Special Forces also recovered six motorcycles, three AK-47 rifles and a machine gun.
“Our military operations in the Northeast have been aggressively sustained against the activities of terrorist elements,” it said, noting that the ongoing operations were to restore peace, security and create an enabling environment to sustain law and order.
