The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kebbi State Command, marked International Civil Defence Day with a series of activities aimed at strengthening security awareness and fostering community collaboration.
Addressing officers and personnel, the State Commandant, Kabiru Alkamawa Abubakar, underscored the crucial role of civil defence in safeguarding lives, property, and critical infrastructure. He emphasised that security remains the bedrock of a thriving society, warning that without it, development is stifled, economic progress stalls, and social stability is threatened.
Reaffirming the NSCDC’s dedication to professionalism and patriotism, he urged officers to uphold integrity, discipline, and a relentless commitment to public service.
The Commandant expressed deep appreciation to Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, for bolstering the Command’s operational capacity with the donation of three Hilux utility vehicles. He also lauded officers at the Force Operational Base for their unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and security.
In a show of unity and fitness, the command organised a symbolic walk from the state command headquarters to the legislative roundabout in Birnin Kebbi metropolis, reinforcing the corps’ message of vigilance and resilience in securing communities.
