Borno State Police Commissioner disburses N35.7m to families of deceased police officers

The Borno State Police Command has disbursed N35,656,506.60 to families of 17 deceased and injured police officers and men in the state.
According to police Command, the payments are part of Group Life Insurance benefits and IGP’s family welfare scheme.
Spokesman of the Command, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, over the weekend in Maiduguri, stated, “The Commissioner of Police, Yusuf Mohammed Lawal presented N36.7 million cheques to the 17 next of kin and other families of the deceased police officers.
He said that the IGP’s family welfare and insurance schemes, are to support families of police officers that sacrificed, while protecting people’s lives and property in communities.
“The disbursement of N36.7 million to the families of our deceased police officers is a testament to IGP’s commitment to the welfare of policemen and their families in the state.”
Lawal, therefore, urged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the payments made to improve their living conditions in barracks.
Abraham Lawrence, one of the family members, expressed gratitude to the IGP and management of the state police command. He also pledged to utilize the welfare and insurance payments responsibly among the family members.
