Gombe First Lady provides assorted assistance to less privileged, youths, vulnerable women

The wife of Gombe State Governor, Dr Asma’u Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has demonstrated the uncommon golden heart of a good mother and complemented the laudable achievements of her husband, Gov Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya since the assumption of office by the Governor on May 29th, 2019.
Over 10 million Naira has been disbursed to the less privileged, youths and vulnerable women in the state through the First Lady’s pet project, “Jewel Care Foundation.

Her programme ranges from the distribution of cash donations, training women in different types of trades for vulnerable women, less- privileged and youths in order to reduce idleness, put food on the tables of many families in the state and economically empower them.
For instance, over 500 women received a 20,000 Naira grant which the First Lady promised to do more in order to empower women and make them self reliant.
Speaking at the disbursement of funds to women drawn from the eleven Local Government Areas of the state, the Governor’s wife said the money was given through her Jewel Care Foundation, with the sole aim of assisting more women to become breadwinners and active supporters of their families.
While receiving encomiums for the wonderful performances of her office and her husband, she vowed to redouble her efforts, in bringing developmental initiatives, that would help address financial challenges of the womanhood, adding that the only way to fight poverty, is to properly utilize the funds provided, into business ventures of their choices and remain focused and committed to achieving success.
She expressed appreciation to Gombe women and youths, for always supporting and standing by the government of her husband, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, through thick and thin, assuring them of better democratic dividends under their watch.
The Executive Chairman of Billiri Local Government Council, Mrs Margaret Bitrus, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Naomi J.J Awak, Commissioner for Science, Innovation and Technology, Dr Aishatu Maigari, Dr Bertha Abdu Daya who is the Head of Department of Chemical Science at Federal University Kashere, all expressed appreciations to the wife of the Governor for demonstrating the love of a caring mother, leader and wife of the pragmatic Governor of the state while urging the beneficiaries to be thankful for having a caring and God-fearing First Lady, who is always worried about their well-being and how to put smiles on their faces.
The Royal Father at the occasion, who is “Yariman Gombe,” Abdulkadir Abubakar was also full of praises to the Governor and his wife for always coming up with laudable initiatives, that have a direct bearing on the common people, urging them to keep the tempo high and poured out his royal blessings on them.
In a related development, 500 ARC-PA Gombe youth facilitators gained employment while three weeks of induction training, to develop their mentorship and leadership skills was organized by the First Lady at the Multi-purpose Hall of Gombe State University.
The Governor’s wife urged the beneficiaries to leverage on this rare opportunity and cherish their respective jobs in all honesty, to make her proud as a mother, by becoming good ambassadors of Gombe State, in order to justify the untiring efforts and commitments of Gombe State government, under the leadership of Gov Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, in ensuring the implementation of the At-Risk Children Project in the state.
She called on the youths who have yet to benefit from the programme, to exercise patience as this is just the tip of the iceberg because, ARC-P seeks to positively touch the lives of over eleven thousand (11,000) youths, by addressing problems of youths unemployment, poverty amongst women and uneducated vulnerable children in the society.
Also speaking at the event, the Special Adviser on Human Capital Development and ARC-P Gombe Lead, Barrister Sani Ahmed Haruna explained that the first state to domesticate the At-Risk Children project was Gombe that had made the state the pacesetter for other states to follow.
The At-Risk Children Project as a national strategic plan is to rehabilitate and support at least, five million children and youths across Nigeria, to constructively live a life of dignity.
Also, encomiums were passed on the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and his wife, Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, for becoming parents to the orphans and the voice of the voiceless, urging them not to relent in their efforts and determination to improve the livelihood of the generality of the populace, as they are ever ready to support the policies and Programmes of this government.
