Gombe: Gov Yahaya appoints Ibrahim Isa as DG GMC

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has made significant appointments in Gombe State, with Ibrahim Isa of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) taking on the role of Director-General of the Gombe State Media Corporation (GMC).
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who highlighted Isa’s exceptional personal qualities and extensive experience in the field as the basis for his immediate appointment.
Isa brings with him more than twenty years of journalism expertise, having excelled as a reporter, producer, newsreader, TV host, and media manager. His proven track record positions him to introduce fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the Gombe State Media Corporation, fostering a dynamic and vibrant media environment.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed confidence in Isa’s leadership, anticipating that it will contribute to the growth of the GMC and enhance its ability to provide the public with accurate and timely information.
In addition to the appointment of Ibrahim Isa, Governor Inuwa Yahaya has approved the promotion of Dr. Ishiyaku Babayo Mohammed from the position of Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Development Partners Coordination to Special Adviser on the same portfolio, effective immediately.
The decision to elevate Dr. Mohammed was based on his outstanding achievements, exceptional commitment, and demonstrated effectiveness during his tenure as SSA. Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s actions reflect his commitment to assembling a talented and capable team to drive progress and development in Gombe State.
