Guards Brigade urged to sustain training, retraining as a means to ending insecurity

Training and retraining of personnel have been identified as key to eradicating crimes and other social vices in the society.
Commander Nigerian Army Cyber warfare Command Major General AA Ayannuga stated this, during the closing ceremony a four-day drone training lecture, organised the Guards Brigade Nigerian Army as part of efforts to key into the Nigerian Army and Headquarters Guards Brigade training Directives 2024.
The event which started on Monday 25 March 2024, took place at Guards Brigade auditorium, Aguyi Ironsi Cantonment, Asokoro and the Nigerian Army Space Command Giri respectively, was aimed at refreshing Guards Brigade personnel on the use of drones for surveillance and enhanced intelligence gathering.
General Ayannuga stated that the completion of this training will not only showcase the essential talents and skills of the officers and soldiers but it will give Guards Brigade more credit and good reputation as a beacon of leadership .
He said he believes knowledge gained from the training is not a waste and appreciates the coordinator, facilitators and participants for their patience and zeal throughout the training.
He appreciated the Commander Guards Brigade and facilitators for organizing and making the training possible. He also encouraged Commanders at all levels to key into the driving force of the Commander Guards Brigade to ensure that they don’t give excuses as it relates to issues of training.

In his closing remarks the Commander Guards Brigade Brigadier General Adebisi Onasanya thanked the Special Guest of Honour and also appreciated the facilitators for enlightening the participants on drone training and further stated that it would go a long way in enhancing professionalism of troops while discharging their duties in the field.
He charged participants who took part in the training not to relent on the knowledge gained but to rather build on it and equip themselves with the needed modules to ensure proficiency and professionalism in their various fields of specialization. He stated that NA Personnel must operate within the international acceptable standards.
Series of lectures on Drone were delivered during the training by resource persons from the Nigerian Army Space Command. They include; Satellite Communication in Nigeria Army, Map Reading, Global Positioning System among others.
Climax of the event was the presentation souvenir to the Special Guest and the Team Leader from Nigerian Army Space Command, as well as presentation of certificates to participants and group photographs.
